[average 119.4 of 231823 opinions; standard deviation 432.1 ] - Profile: I started watching Dragonball Z when I was in middle school, leading to other animes such as Trigun, Princess Mononoke, Perfect Blue and Vampire Hunter D. Some time in the middle of high school, I caught a glimpse of some Kenshin AMV set to Stabbing Westward's Torn Apart. Getting more into them, I came across Hsien Lee's Kyoto Kombat and was hooked. I began tinkering with Adobe Premiere and Windows Movie Maker. I made several attempts at videos then, after a brief fit of depression, deleted them.
I re-gathered my efforts and made a few several more, leading me to make Quahog Kombat, a spiritual parody of Kyoto Kombat and the first video of mine people ended up really liking. I moved onto using Adobe Premiere and eventually Final Cut Pro. I became increasingly involved in the AMV community until 2005, when I felt myself drifting away from both the Org's community and the hobby itself. Some of this has to do with the Org's community becoming less fun and overly-regulated.
Life has become a lot busier in the past few years, leaving me with little time to create AMVs but my list of video ideas gets longer every day. I try to create some for conventions if I can, particularly my local ones, Kumoricon, SakuraCon and NewCon. Ultimately however, I've become more interested in editing itself as opposed to anime. What this means for my presence in the AMV community, I don't know. But what I've learned about editing since making them are lessons I take with me into future professional opportunities. My goal is to be able to edit film trailers, feature films and music videos and someday become a member of the American Cinema Editors.
