- Profile: I'm a Environmental Engineer, who made some college art films with some buddies. I have a AMV blog here at AMV.org and a real world blog at www.xanga.com/mau28 . If you really want to ask me something you could AIM me, mau28b; I don't have much of a life so I might be around.
A little background. I go by the name MAU, it's a college nickname. I'm a member of Sandhill Productions, its the name of the movie/art production company my buddies and I run. We made three short art films; two being of a biblical nature with MATURE marionettes, and the third was a dark fairy tale told with marionettes. We also did a live action zombie movie, but we don't really talk about that one. The Saw & Knife Division is now responsible for the creation of AMVs, MAU (me) is incharge of the division and is assisted by Jason C, Conor W-O, and John D.
I've got a little video production experience, lot of computer experience, lots of anime watching experience. So I figure putting the three of them together might not be so bad. My 1st attemp "Aggressive Bebop" came together rather nicely while I was learning Premiere 6 crash-coarse style. I'm planning a couple other AMV,s but focusing on fixing a few technical issues I had while making my 1st AMV.
2007 - I've been out of the loop for a very long time cause of the day job, life, and starting Angry Viking Press, a comic book publisher, last year. I've recently started messing around with Premiere again, and the editting bug has bitten me again.
Otakon 2004 went great handedout 450 Video CD's. To anyone who received the Video CD's they are designed to work in DVD players and Computers. To use it in a DVD player put the disk in and press Play or #1. In a computer it can be a little more difficult, you need to download/install software for playing Video CD's. I wasn't able to get the disk to play on my own machine before Otakon; though I believe its cause I've got some many software/drivers installed I think thats what was cause my problems..burt I could be wrong..I'm human.
If you are completely unable to use the Disks, got to the Sandhill Website (link in profile info) and click on the "Music Videos (Saw & Knife Division)". You can download all the videos provided here, plue an alternative version of B.O.B. Ver 2.0..its called "Not a Damn Bit of Difference!" version..there are a few changes..but no one I showed it to could see the difference..burt I know its there. So the version exist. Another video not proivided here is Transformer Beast Wars.
Otakon 2003 went real well, I gave away all 200 video CD's, about a dozsen people recognized me as a Macross Plus pilot off the bat, a few knew I was from Macross, and one person (like at AnimeBoston) thought I was the "glow in the dark guy from Trigun". I had to change my stradgey in giving away the CD's since the pictures were coming slowly, so I starting giving away the CD's to the people I was taking pictures of.
