ok..the pilot suites been picked up from the cleaners
I've got some 414 CD labeled so far..but I do have some 700 Video CDs all burned. I have a few spare CD cases left over, so I bought another 50 CDs. I did have a few rejects out of the 700 disk..about 30 of them..numbers wise isn't too bad..less than 5%. However, I have to back thru the strack cause some of the reject were due to the drive spinning the disk at the moment it was trying to start burning..so if gave an error message.
So come Friday, I'll take back up the Macross Plus flight suit..and come strolling into Boston with several hundred Video CDs to give away to people who I take a picture of or take a picture of me..or those in the immediate vincity of me when I give them out..cause they ask for free one too. -

Crazy Plan: I'm giving away 700 Video Cd's of all my AMV's plus a Transformers Beast Wars Animated Music Video to the Mortal Kombat theme, B.O.B. AMV1, and B.O.B. Ver 2.05 the ADD version or the "I can't tell a damn difference!" version. There are changes..very small, it more has to do with my personal end forVersion 2.0 , but my esteamed parent Jason felt my ending was to quick and left people wanting more..Ver 1 ending..was a battle orginally. I had the ending much more drawn out than it is in Ver 1, but understood jason reasoning and made the needed cuts/edits...and that is Ver 1. But there is a few new scenes about 1/3rd of the way into the video; and some of the edits are at a quicker pace.
New Idea: had been working on new AMV of 'Cars' played on steel drums, its an amazing piece, I have a stack of anime and had started to wittle thru it till Anime Boston started to roll around, the the 'crazy plan' kicked in and I had to stop. But once all Amine Boston is over I go back to the video. -
BOB is in the finals for Anime Boston

I just got the email that Bombs Over Belgistan made the finals for Anime Boston. it was kick ass, but to finally make into the finals is just great.
My Black Girlfriend didn't make it in the drama caterogy i guess, which is a little weak..cause its a decent video..I'm just hoping the other finalist are better than last yearss..cause there were a few that just sucked..and there were some that didn't make the cut that were better..not including my own. -

ok so it was down to the wire again. but Bombs Over Belgistan has been improved. I managed to make two verdsions of it, a "clean" and "slightly unclean" version. the word "n_gga" is used twice in the song, but the song itself is sped up so the words fly by..and all the people I showed the video to didn't even notice when I told them it was in there.
But the rules for anime Boston is it has to radio freindly..so I tried a bunch of things in Sound Forge to mask the bad word, I searched for gaps in the lyrics so I could grab a sample of the background music. As I mentioned before the song is sped up..so the gaps are really small if any. I managed to find a few..but all the times I tried to mask the word or part of the word it drew more attention to the word. I ended up cutting the 1st usage of the word out of the AMV..this ment I had to remove 4 frames of footage from one scene and then move all the following scene over.
The 2nd usage, I was able to mask with a sound sample..it was a faction of a second longer than the first usage..so I couldn't just clip it from the song with out it attracting lots of attention. but masking it worked out ok.
However, I can hear the slight difference..and I submited both versions with a note telling the guy what was up..and to listen to the "unclean" first and try to hear the bad word..i think its tough for some if they don't know the un-editted version of the song..and at a AMV contest the video is shown once or twice and thats it..so i think 90% of people wont even notice it.
Video wise..I added a bunch of scenes from Big O to the AMV to balance out the Dia guard and full metal panic. And I'm proud I worked in two scenes from Evangelions..it small scenes..but I figure thats the only editting of Eva material I'm going to do for a long time. but I can at least put in the credits Evangelions..and people will usually go "HUH?..I didn't see any Evas." but it'll be there!!!
And accorfing to the rules I can only replace AMVs with exact re-masters of my AMV..so I think I'll upload this as B.O.B. Ver 2. But I need to tweak the credits, anime boston version has no credits right now, so I'll have it uploaded by the end of the weekend. -
I've been away for a very long time

well I'm back to the AMV's mainly cause Anime Boston and Otakon are coming up..and I need to touch up my AMV's. I've had some computer re-building and work get in the way of AMV's..also a spent Nov and 1st half of Dec converting and burning DVDs of the Daily show for a friend in China right now.
so i did have reason for not making AMVs..some of my friends would say "not good enough reasons"..but thats what happened.
I'm looking thru my anime collection..i've gotten more since the last entry. I'm still keeping with the "military/para-military mecha attack a city" theme..but I'm thinking of expanding the anime I'm using.
I've tempted to have a Evangelions scene..but I want to keep away from Eva..its been over used in AMV..but I think a few choice scenes could work for my AMV. I'm toying with only scenes of anything but the Evas..maybe of the tanks lined up in a row firing..or hung missles being fired..but no Eva's or Angels.
But I'm looking thru anime and writing down scene ideas for the next week or so.
Also important note to all fellow AMV makers..having a DVD burner is a great thing. I simplied burned dvd's of all my source files and premeire files..walked away from the project for 8 months..copied the DVDs back on to the harddrives..and BAM!! the projects back just like it wa;s 8 months ago. granted it took 6 DVDs but its my whole project..and all I now have to do is find more material..re-edit the AMV (hehe..thats always a fun task)..and tweak'm to my friends acceptance.
