Taisetsu na omoi [Remastered]

Post by Bakadeshi » Mon Apr 25, 2005 8:11 pm

I know a few of you was waiting for this. Here it is, Taisetsu na Omoi Remastered from R1 DVDs.

Since I have more or less finished my Otakon video using chobits, I decided to also remaster this video. Boy did I not know what I was getting into. Those crappy HKs actually took their source from TV broadcast, and I originally edited from 1 big AVS file containing the 3 episodes back to back from the HK disk. The R1s not only have added footage between each episode, but the commercial break segments are also longer. I had to splice up, figure out the amount of frame diferences, adjust the timming accordingly, and put it all back together, which proved to be a very tedious job ;p (mostly the figuring out the time differences part) Fortunately, thank goodness for AVIsynth whose scripting language made this much easier to do than It would have been to manually cut up the files and put them together as AVI files in Vdub ;p

Anyway, the effort was worth it, since the visual quality is 1000 times better now ;p Those who liked this video are encouraged to download the remastered version. (and maybe adjust your visual scores accordingly in your ops if you left any :wink: )

Without further adue, heres the linky:

For those that havn't already gotten this video, its Chobits to Blaque - till the last tear drop falls, A bittersweet romance to the 3 side characters, Yumi, Yumi, and Mr Ueda.

Holy crap! This video has only existed for about a month and you remastered it already!? Wow. Now THAT'S dedication. So, besides the visual, did you change anything else? Or can I keep the same review I gave it and (like you said) just change the visual score? Either way, I'll have to watch it again, but my internet is being freaky right now, so it'll have to wait 'til tomorrow at least.

As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

: _ {

Very emotional....and sappy. : )
Excellent flow of scene selections, I must say. Although I've never seen Chobits, I really enjoyed this. Great video quality, precise editing- I especially liked the filter you added onto the last two stills in the end. Not to mention the interesting introduction you've made. (I like, I like.)

^ but that's because you've got some anal retentive compulsive disorder...which by the way happens to make your amvs better. :? It's all good though.

Now, if i had a "tag this amv for download later" button, I'd click it. "bookmarks".

Nope editing is 99% exactly the same. 1% is there because I had to adjust 1 scene since there was a bad frame in there after switching to the DVDs, and I had to redo the 2 ending stills, and did them in Gimp instead of photoshop (since I couldn't find my photoshop CDs to install it on my new PC), so they look a little different from the original one. I also had to Pan-scan (crop) the video to be 4:1 aspect since the R1s are 16:9 aspect ratio.

I must have missed this when it was first released.

Better late, in this case. Nice work. :)

I missed this vid the frist time around but I am glad I got a chance to to see it. It's not the same old chobits vid with Chi and Hideki in it. It's nice to see a vid with the 2nd and 3rd string characters in it. Excellent vid man
keep up the good work. =)
