Unintentional editing
Has anyone here ever looked at video after it's finished and realized that you synced to something without realizing it? I was looking at one I finished last week and suddenly realized that many of the transitions were on the downbeat of the drummer, specifically when the footpedal hits. I hadn't known what I was doing at the time, but I did it nonetheless.
Anyone else had that happen?

I've had a few cases where I was trying to emphasize one steady beat and ended up switching to the offbeat partway through. The last time I didn't notice until someone pointed it out. Of course, in that one I was synching to both the on and off beat, so the vid was still syched, just...switched partway through. Half the time I can't even tell which one *is* the 'on' beat. I just sync to whatever sound I like best in each 'section' of the song. o.o;
Lucky coincidence leads to unintentional sync, but that's usually cases where I honestly didn't hear the thing that ended up being 'synched to' and didn't notice the extra sync till it was pointed out to me. I'll be matching the sound of the words and accidentally end up matching some instrument I didn't notice as well. Happens a lot more often with songs that have lyrics sung to really mesh with the instruments.
Yeah. I have no ear for instruments. I was in chorus, not band. >.>

I do it all the time. I have a habit of just dropping clips on the timeline and playing the music just to see if it suits the footage and it'll sync PERFECTLY. I've done that in several videos and just left it where it was. Sometimes it'll change the whole concept of the AMV after I find something like that. ("wait a second...that looks like humping...I'MA LOOP IT.")

I have an entire video like that. I was drunk and bored and decided to do a video. So I threw the thing together in about 5 hours. Then I sobered up and realized that was really fairly decently synced. And more profound than anything I had ever done sober without even trying. WEHOO!!! But seriously, that's happened a lot with me.
