That was exactly one of the things I tried to do in this video... I tried to make sure I wasn't just repeating the same kind of thing over and over. I'm glad I was able to pull it off.

Really? The song was a CD rip...

Awesome, I hope that means my effects looked natural.

I feathered the edges around the cutouts in Photoshop mainly because of the black background the cutouts were going to be on. The black made any pixels that were still around the edges show up a lot more, so feathering the outline was a quick solution to that problem. Also, in most cases it helped the picture blend into the background a lot more, and it also created a certain mood that I wanted. The very last scene of the forehead protector was a also a cutout on a black background, but I didn't feather the edges of that one mainly because I didn't want the same mood for that scene as I did for the ones in the beginning.

512x384 is the same ratio as 640x480, so it's still fullscreen. I made it slightly smaller to give the video a smaller filesize. I did try to make it 640x480, but to get the video to be under 100 MB I had to decrease the bitrate quite a bit (since the video is so long), so while the bigger resolution made the lines sharper, there were pixels everywhere.
