An Angel's Solitude [Ceres]

Post by Moonlight Soldier » Fri May 06, 2005 6:54 pm

Wewt, here's the product of my first Premiere/AVIsynth experimentation.

A Dramatic/Serious Ceres AMV to Avril Lavigne's Nobody's Home (Stop Judging!)

hehe.

There's two things that irked me about this amv,
1. The woes of compression (how I love thee 1.82 gig huffy T-T)
2. Aya's hair.

Otherwise, hopefully someone else will enjoy :D

Feedback welcome and appreciated. ^_^

This'll be the first vid I've seen by you. I usually dispise most opular music, but if it's a vid made by a friend, it's good in my book :P

It wasn't bad. I've never heard this particular song from this girl, but it was catchy and seemed to fit the anime's angst. Your editing is a bit rough; it felt more like a storyboard of interesting scenes all jumbled together, but it's a good start. I'm familiar with the show (even if I couldn't stand it) so I know what you were aiming for. It just didn't seem to flow evenly enough - too many straight cuts I think. Overall, it's nice to see another good Ceres AMVs.

Tempting to download, but how bad are the spoilers? (Never seen Ceres)

The story you were trying to tell I can understand. I think you focus on the next videos should be on technique. As mentioned in a post earlier here, the scenes were cut too short. It almost gave a staccato feeling to the song, which in turn dampened the flow of the video a bit. The song was a little slow so more fluid transitions such as fade in/out or dissolves should have been made. I think that would also help the video be more coherent. Also, the video could be cleaned up a little bit. I thought I saw some interlacing problems once and some scenes looked more pixilated than others. I think if you clean this up you'll have videos that are super duper great. Keep up the work. If you need any help I will try to assist in anyways feasible.

OMG stop judging lol. (I knew you'd probably cringe at the song choice XD)

Heh, it's rather overplayed here, but once I heard it I knew I wanted to use it.

Well, I can tell you that almost everything that looks like it's a spoiler isnt' and happens in the first episode, but there's one other thing that I would consider significant enough not to want to see. (But that's me, and it's only if you pick up on it, since there's two scenes that refer to it.)...download at your discretion?

Yea, I really just need to sit down and learn more about the program, a lot of the things I tried involved - "let's see what this does" >.<

But I'm glad the concept came off well.

In regards to tutelage, teach me of wise grasshopper, for I am in need of guidance @_@ Encoding, among other things makes my brain hurt.

I saw some technical problems- a little interlacing and the video wasn't cropped completely, but that was very enjoyable. : )

I actually liked the fast cuts and overlays which seemed to add more impact to the video and such. The video just seemed to fit so well with the music lyric-wise. I loved it! Approved!

Great job Moon!
Lurid Enchantment - ICYCLOUD
urban suite - TRYTHIL
大切な思い - BAKADESHI
Expansion - RESK

Sweet, a vid from Moon! :P

I haven't seen this anime before, but it seems like you've managed to successfully depict the frustration and problems faced by the main characters throughout the video. The direct cuts, although they could be lessened to promote better flow, also fit the melancholy lyrics of the song and add to the overall mood of the vid as well. Quite a well-done, somber AMV. I hope to see lots more from ya, great work! :)

Nice video.

There were some technical issues, but aside from that, the song fit the source somewhat better than I had been expecting.

The video has a nice flow to it. I'm thinking that if this is your first 'real' premiere video then you'll adapt and be doing some slick stuff pretty soon.
