Callin' Tokyo (What? Ghibli movies and a country song??)
Fresh from the MTAC AMV contest, my newest (well, newest released) video, "Callin' Tokyo". It only seemed appropriate to send an AMV using a country song to a convention in Nashville, and it apparently was modestly well received (at least by the judges), as it was awarded one of the two "Judges' Favorite" awards. So, without further ado..

Yeah- Shizuku's lip flapping was something I tried to avoid as much as possible, but at some points the violin bow was going in front of her mouth- so in the end I opted to just not try and rotoscope her mouth shut. I also wasn't being as meticulous as may have been possible in trying to match the violin play- I was mainly worrying that the speed seemed to match up about right.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Gald you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, 'Only Yesterday' and 'Whisper of the Heart' are not available domestically yet- though if you have any fansub connections, you should be able to get copies of them fansubbed. They're two of the slower, more 'ordinary' Ghibli movies, revolving around the lives of relatively ordinary characters. Disney hasn't seemed to be in too much of a hurry to release them domestically, because they probably figure the audience won't be there as much as there is for the more action-packed ones like Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, etc. There is some irony to their release scheduling, though- they have released "The Cat Returns", which I believe should come after 'Whisper of the Heart' (takes place in the same universe, from what I've heard).BunofGovt wrote:Oh my goodness, that was a lot of fun! I'm going to have to get these two anime. Good job!
