21:35 <NerdStrudel> ?
21:35 <quadir> although they are only 2 months appart
21:35 <teya> er.. okay
21:35 <G_Q> I thought it was good, though.
21:35 <quadir> and I guess this one is action whereas K.O.F was more 'fun'
21:35 <teya> i can't compare, haven't seen it
21:36 <G_Q> I've seen quite a bit of FMA over the years, and this was pretty original.
21:36 <teya> or at least, i don't remember seeing it
21:36 <NerdStrudel> Indeed
21:36 <quadir> but while I thought this was a decent action vid, I just didn't feel the video game tie-in
21:36 <ngsilver> the street fighter element made me want to keep the file
21:36 <ngsilver> i do agree, it lacked
21:36 <quadir> yeah? I dunno I feel I've seen that angle played too much
21:36 <NerdStrudel> yah.. the video game tie-in seemed like something he put...
21:36 <NerdStrudel> just whem he didn't know what else
21:36 <NerdStrudel> and like...
21:36 <NerdStrudel> Sold it
21:36 <G_Q> The sync on everything was pretty nice, although I agree on the overall use of the VG stuff.
21:37 <quadir> with the 3 video game projects and random projects like K.O.F... if you're going to do the video game thing, make it really strong and a real big deal
21:37 <NerdStrudel> there wasn't a large enough use of it
21:37 <quadir> the scene with his health bars for example just seemed slapped on for no reason
21:37 <quadir> but his ringout was well played
21:37 <NerdStrudel> But the
21:37 <NerdStrudel> Hadouken Pattern
21:37 <NerdStrudel> ...
21:37 <NerdStrudel> or what that a shoryuken?
21:37 <NerdStrudel> either way
21:37 <NerdStrudel> that was pointless
21:37 <G_Q> It's tough with vids like this, though -- where the effects tended to be better than the meat of the vid.
21:38 <G_Q> Almost like a juicy-looking steak that's a bit tough on the inside.
21:38 <teya> the video game stuff i found neat, but went by too fast
21:38 <quadir> yeah like the stage select
21:38 <NerdStrudel> Stage select was... eh
21:38 <quadir> I would of really liked more a of a theme of stages throughout the video
21:39 <NerdStrudel> I suppose
21:39 <G_Q> True.
21:39 <teya> quadir: that might've worked, yeah
21:39 <quadir> but instead I got random action shots with 2 seconds of flashing stages
21:39 <ngsilver> yeah, more of the tie-ins to the video game theme throughout. combos ect.
21:39 <NerdStrudel> And yah.
21:39 <NerdStrudel> ..
21:39 <quadir> NerdStrudel: the combo readout was cool, but would of had to do it MORE, not just a one-off
21:40 <quadir> like do it on almost every scene, in the bottom of each corner, fading as each move is entered, or something
21:40 <NerdStrudel> The video game tie-ins were pretty much just like filler
21:40 <NerdStrudel> ...
21:40 <NerdStrudel> to me
21:41 <quadir> I think NerdStrudel nailed it, except for the intro to the vid, the vg stuff felt like filler
21:41 <quadir> take it out though
21:41 <quadir> and you still have solid sync
21:41 <quadir> and fairly solid action
21:41 <NerdStrudel> yah
21:41 <Minion> having seen the amv, i was entertained.
21:41 <NerdStrudel> I liked the intro
21:41 <Minion> there, thats my review
21:41 <NerdStrudel> and the outro
21:41 <G_Q> quadir: I complemented on that, actually.
21:41 <NerdStrudel> those were kickass
21:41 <teya> quadir: i think the video game thing gave the video a point
21:41 <ngsilver> but dispite the solid action... it then just seems... overused... and done before
21:41 <G_Q> All but a very few parts were completely in sync.
21:42 <teya> take that out, and the amv is rather boring
21:42 <quadir> teya: yeah, I felt he tried to use to justify the "random fights between people"
21:42 <G_Q> ng: It has been overused. It's FMA.
21:42 <NerdStrudel> ...Yes we all know.. The video game parts were lame and not done to well
21:42 <G_Q> Too many FMA vids use the same scenes ("Blue Guy" vs. Ed, for example), but this one used it well I thought.
21:43 <NerdStrudel> greed?
21:43 <G_Q> I thought they were actually not as bad as all that.
21:43 <NerdStrudel> yah the fight scenes weren't that bad
21:43 <G_Q> The intro was a pretty nice homage to SF2.
21:43 <quadir> G_Q: yeah maybe I'm skipping too many fma vids of late but the blue guy fight did stand out
21:43 <NerdStrudel> take out the VG stuff.. and I'd still enjoy this amv
21:43 <NerdStrudel> cept the intro and outro
21:43 <NerdStrudel> keep though
21:44 <NerdStrudel> those*
21:44 <G_Q> It could have used a bit of Shambala shine.
21:44 <NerdStrudel> they owned
21:44 <teya> i wasn't a huge fan of the "outro"
21:45 <quadir> neither was I, not for an action vid
21:45 <NerdStrudel> was it just me or did his masking throughout seem kinda shotty
21:45 <quadir> totally ruined the pumped up pacing he used throughout
21:45 <quadir> although yes fighting game endings are usually lame
21:45 <teya> heh
21:45 <teya> so he gets points for realism ;)
21:45 <quadir> NerdStrudel: that's kind of expected, I woudln't rail on it too hard given how hard it is
21:46 <teya> i didn't find the masking terrible compared to most
21:46 <NerdStrudel> I suppose.. I hate Masking to
21:46 <NerdStrudel> I pretty much avoid masking, even though I always have ideas on how to use it
21:46 <teya> it was obvious, but not distracting
21:46 <NerdStrudel> I suppose
21:46 <quadir> he also really doesn't resolve his 3-way fight at the end
21:47 <quadir> from the stage-select on
21:47 <quadir> he has a storyline!
21:47 <NerdStrudel> ...
21:47 <NerdStrudel> 3-way fighting?
21:47 <quadir> which is good
21:47 <quadir> yeah stage-select onwards is between 3 characters
21:47 <quadir> in a 3-way fight
21:47 <NerdStrudel> Oh i suppose
21:47 <NerdStrudel> roy,scar, and ed
21:47 <G_Q> Then Ed vanishes and Scar takes over.
21:47 <quadir> whereas up to that point was random punches between random people
21:48 <quadir> and then scar vanishes and ed fights and looses
21:48 <quadir> but scar...?
21:48 <G_Q> Did an SF game have switch-off partners?
21:48 <NerdStrudel> no
21:48 <NerdStrudel> only the like
21:48 <G_Q> I though that was (Game x) vs Capcom.
21:48 <NerdStrudel> Capcom vs SNK or whatever type games did
21:48 <ngsilver> SF didn't really have ring outs either
21:48 <NerdStrudel> yah..
21:48 <NerdStrudel> that bothered me -_-
21:48 <quadir> shhh
21:48 <G_Q> Marvel Vs., SNK Vs., etc.,
21:48 <quadir> the ringout was good :(
21:49 <ngsilver> it was funny... but losses the realism points there
21:49 <NerdStrudel> Oh and as long as we're totally making up little "stories" That there are
21:49 <quadir> I guess he resolves scar at 3:25 or whatever
21:49 <G_Q> In hindsight, the editor should have used DBZ Budokai.
21:49 <NerdStrudel> Ed vs Lust
21:49 <quadir> where he blows up scar
21:49 <NerdStrudel> Alpohonze vs Gluttony
21:49 <G_Q> Selectable characters, multiple stages, ring outs, etc.
21:49 <Minion> shameless plug, go watch autrayas capcop vs snk vid
21:49 <G_Q> Plus, we already have the yellow, spiky-haired hero.
21:49 <NerdStrudel> Scar vs gluttony*
21:49 <Minion> oh ya, some other guy did it too
21:50 <Minion> capcom
21:50 <teya> >_<
21:50 <quadir> anyways, roll call
21:51 <quadir> I liked the vid in the end, even if I could of done with better integration of VG and a more coherent video, although the stage-select on I noticed on reviewings was fluid
21:51 <NerdStrudel> I still love the outro.. that pwned
21:52 <teya> i thought it was decent, entertaining. a bit long, and not enough addition of video game stuff.
21:52 <NerdStrudel> It wasn't to long -_-
21:52 <NerdStrudel> But yes.. needed more better done VG stuff
21:52 <teya> i dunno, i lost interest at a certain point
21:52 <teya> my mind wandered
21:52 <G_Q> The intro was nice, the outro was funny, the character select and stage select were also pretty neat, and the rest had great action sync. Overall, it was a pretty nice vid.
21:52 <teya> hence thinking it was too long
21:53 <G_Q> (Even though it did drag a bit in the middle)
21:53 <NerdStrudel> I liked the part with introducing the deadly sins
21:53 <ngsilver> overall i enjoyed the video as a video, but this didn't catch me as something I want to show my friends, or keep high on the replay list
21:53 <G_Q> (That was my only real negative with the video)
21:53 <NerdStrudel> "we come t odestroy the world" or whatever
21:53 * G_Q agrees with ngsilver.
21:53 <NerdStrudel> I thought that little 2 second spot was awesome =O
21:53 <G_Q> I'll watch it once in a while, but not all the time.
21:54 <ngsilver> and the MP4 seems to have less in the way of quality then the avi
21:54 <G_Q> I based my technical ops off the AVI version.
21:54 <quadir> yeah I mentioned that in my op, the "we come to destroy the world" and "have to deal with me first" part is good
21:54 <quadir> great introduction
21:55 <quadir> I wish the first half of the vid would of done more with that
21:55 <NerdStrudel> mhmm
21:55 <G_Q> Yeah.
21:55 <ngsilver> I had the benifit of DL'ing the AVI a while back, and then got the mp4 and was dissapointed, thoug my op was based mostly off of the avi
21:57 <NerdStrudel> It says catcom at the beginning of the vid
21:57 <NerdStrudel> instead of capcom
21:57 <NerdStrudel> :O
21:57 <NerdStrudel> clever clever
21:57 <quadir> yeah, it's cute :)
