Frost and Flames

Post by jasper-isis » Mon Apr 23, 2007 2:58 pm

Seems like everybody's releasing videos recently. I guess I'll join in the fun. :P

Video: Frost and Flames
Anime: Kaleido Star, Kaleido Star: Legend of the Phoenix
Song: Headlock
Artist: Imogen Heap
Creator: jasper-isis
Studio: Allegretto Productions

And, since it's the whole point of the video anyway:
Category: dramatic dance (also character profile)

Everything else is pretty much self-explanatory. Enjoy! :D

Oh, and also, if you liked Duel of Blades, a higher resolution H.264 version is now up on local.

ooo That was neat. What I like the most about it is that it's different from most Kaleido Star videos. Awesome job

I just downloaded this. I was mesmerized by the soft transient music. I know I've heard this same artist/band in another video but I can't recall which one.

I loved how you focus on Layla even though it could have easily worked with Sora as well. Too many videos focus on her already so it is refreshing to see Layla get some attention. I just hope somebody picks up the Layla Hamilton movie for R1 release. It'd be a shame to have a great series and be short changed by not having the movie to complete it.

The video was generally ok, nothing exaggerating, but with a subdued track like Headlock, the simple approach works best. Some scenes could have been reworked better or substituted for others, but overall quite enjoyable.

The one thing I would nitpick is that at some parts of the video I sort of expected harder image changes once the chords get hit similar to the ones you did during the first time that chord was hit (of course that may prove to be somewhat difficult considering the availability of the Layla scenes). Other then that, you definitely have a knack on flow and subtle timing especially when the harp gets played; that was nice! 8-)

fine, release this when I'm not around the PC why don't ya ;p

Well you already know my thoughts on it from the betas, but excellent Layla profile video. As always your skill at internal sync always shines in your vids.

That mid section with all the motion sync was just

A mesmerizing vid indeed.
