Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Post by RutKiskasca » Sat Feb 18, 2006 4:19 am

Here is my third video done while deployed to Iraq.

Length - 2:33

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. (I also like ops, but as long as you like it, that's all that matters)

1st post .

Ok, you seem to have to much freetime or you just don't do your job down there cause otherwise you wounln't have so much time for cool videos like this one. I like most of the effects but sometimes the 3D effects looks like you just didn't know what to do at that point therefor they're used very efficiently in other places. And btw. very good use of Trapcode shine, that's how you're supposed to use it :). And just to name the best passage it's 0:58-1:04 there you really hit the nail on the head. But you managed to synch nearly anthing perfectly anyway so I guess this is worth 5 stars. The only thing I missed was a sence of story but ... action > drama so it's not a big thing. Keep it up.

Same as Nio I must say, that this kind of video isn't my taste. In technical belongings it was good though.

It's spiffy to a point of which I'll keep it though a bit too short perhaps? :|

Hmm...
In the case that this was kind of a technical demonstration, I want more effects :P Some scenes seemed to bore me with the lack of movement and pace while others were really overloaded with effects which worked tho. If the whole video would've been more like this it would be crazy and great, but it wasn't :P

i liked it overall but i agree with JCD. If you were going for the technical aspect then there should have been more effects in certain areas to balance out the effects in other areas. Overall i liked it, but not as much as Dreaming (End Of The World).

Nederlander feedback

Post by RutKiskasca » Sun Feb 19, 2006 1:20 pm

Wow, I am going to start soliciting ops from only Netherlands residents. Oh, and Germany. That is some really substantive feedback. Thank you, guys...I appreciate your input, and I have to say I feel about the same way about it. I was trying desparately to break some editing block, and while it worked, I agree with just about everything that you said.

This video was a learning experience, and I am glad that I was able to get comments from you guys that will definitely help me in the future.
