• Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
 • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Bakadeshi: thanks for the suggestions! I'm a little embarrassed, though, because I didn't know I had to warn people that I am a terrible video editor. I thought that was kinda common knowledge  This was one of my faster videos.

So yeah, the timing is super slow, but it's a slow song. If I waited for the dramatic hits, though, I'd have three edits. Everything is synced to something, in my head, at least. Usually the bass or drums (which are weak in this song, but there, sort of).

Reviewing, I do notice that the last segment starts syncing action within the cuts rather than the beginnings and endings of cuts, which is kind of a dumb move, but I didn't realize I was doing that. >_< blargh.

Anyway, yeah, I'm a garden-variety suck editor and you really can't expect much. I just spell well. The two things are not related. I wish. ;)

Thanks for the polite teardown, though, that's very helpful.

This was a good video to watch. Although at first when I first played it, it seemed to have no sound and I was like "what the heck" so I had to move the button and then replay it and it was fine. It was really weird that it did that to me. Well it was a good video, keep up the good work.

Actually I don't expect you to make the cuts any faster than they are, its not the speed of the cuts, just the placement ;p And even that is probably more a matter of personal taste. And yea it is more towards the end that I noticed it more ^^ I do tend to have the same issue in that I like to time things to less prominant parts of the song sometimes, so I guess I can't realy talk too much there myself ;p [/i]

I enjoy this video as a well-needed switch from the usual action/dance-esque nature of Kaleidostar amvs.

I noticed what you you meant about everything synching to something. Took a couple watch-through to see them all clearly, but I don't think this video needs to rely on sync as much as on mood. And I enjoy the mood you created ^_^

It's the first slow KS vid that I love to watch and will keep.

Now...to wait impatiently on that Saiyuki video of yours. ^_~

That's why we LOVE your videos, man ;p. And this video! The audio quality in this sucker is just AMAZING.... yup, 320k ;p The video quality is not so good, judgeing from visual artifacts being in the bumper I'm guessing.... yep, 30 megs. Sacrificing visual quality for audio quality ;p something I would've done myself, uncommon among amv editors. This thread makes me SO happy ;p *geeky reviewer laugh*.

Sorry for the necropost - I wasn't able to get to the org for a while.

Thanks to everyone who downloaded/watched it.

Yeah, to answer that and the bitchy review I got to that effect - it's encoded small on purpose. I believe in encoding a video to match its quality. I hate it when a gigantic file that I bother to wait for and devote hard drive space to is badly edited and boring. Only good videos deserve that sort of treatment. Otherwise it's a waste of my time and space, as a viewer.

So I compress my videos because seriously, what the hell would you want this in super-hi-fi for? It isn't that GOOD. If you think a minute, it makes sense. Or would you rather watch hi-def crap? ;)

Anyway, illogic aside, thanks. ;P
