Free Op for any AMV made with 80s source.

Post by Kionon » Mon May 30, 2005 10:43 pm

Yep, pretty much I'll give a free op for any AMV made with an 80s anime source. I have a couple of preferences, but that doesn't mean I'll turn down anything.

My preferences are: KOR (think I've reviewed all of them that are currently downloadable), Maison Ikkoku, Touch, Urusei Yatsura... anything with a romantic theme.

I'll still do your macrosses, your BGCs, etc. However, the more original and obscure you can be the higher your points! Just remember that.

Hahaha... Out of curiosity, after having read your post, I briefly checked about it, and I realized that the Angel's Egg video I made (the "Of Dreams And Shadows" one in my sig) would actually fit, as the movie is from 1985 :P Sure, it's not like the "80's anime" style you give examples about, but if you still wish to have a peek, feel free to ;)

Watching now. It'll take a couple of passes, but my intial reaction is that of being seriously disturbed.

well, I think that the anime that I used, Dominion Tank Police, just squeeks by at 1989, I believe. I used it in a 1 minute AMV short set to 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker' by the Ramones. I know its short, but made it under a deadline for a friends birthday gift.

Anyway, haven't really got a lot of hits on it and the ones that I have had seem to have scored me on the low side, star-wise (average of this writing of 2.33, which means a 2, a 2, and a 3). Would like to know what I'm doing wrong, so any constructive comments welcome.

thanks in advance - you can click the link on the bottom of my post...

I'm not surprised. Half the reason I'm doing this is because it is so hard to find single source AMVs with 80s anime. Put in an 80s anime and when there may be 3 single source videos aurrounded by 300 multi-source videos, it's hard to spend the time to extract them, so I figured why not let the 80s AMVs come to me? :P

well, sounds like good reasoning to me!

So, did mine make the cut-off? Just curious is all... as this is my first AMV, any and all constructive crits are welcome.

Thanks in advance...

hehehe, I ment more of the date of the anime rather than the number of responses to this thread for free ops! hehehe... but it looks like I did.

Again, thanks for your offer

Oh, well, 1989 is part of the 80s, so yes, it made it date wise.
