My Hime vid to Requiem For a Dream

Post by Songbird21 » Wed May 18, 2005 3:23 am

Title: Red Star
File size: 70mb
Length: 4:19
Anime: Mai Hime (Or My Hime, if you prefer)
Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=72686

This is my Otakon entry so please leave lots of constructive critisism. Thanks. ^_^\/

I made this vid because this is a fanatastic series (Call it a magical girl series and I'll hurt you badly). It's a story that's got awsome battles, heart wrenching drama and girls who fight with powers and you actually get to see the action! If you haven't seen it you must give it a chance. (Warning: There's some fanservicey type stuff in the first few eps, but don't let that throw you off. It all but dissapears fairly quickly.)

It's a magical girl series... just one grown up a bit, with more fanservice, sex, and angst.

Anyway, downloaded. Will get back with impressions.

No it's not. If you call Mai a magical girl series you might as well call Full Metal Alchemist or DBZ magical boy series.

Kal, that's a very small part of the series once it gets going.

Kalium wrote:sex,
Ummmmm....where? I didn't see any.

Now there I agree. :)

I've seen the entire series. I'll grant you that the sex is more in the manga (OK, a lot more). Incidentally, I would class FMA as a variety of magical boy series, again with a lot of angst.

And blood. And more angst.

 Maybe I should take a look at it

The video was decent, nice action and story buildup, had some major beatsynch flaws here and there though. Too bad the song is overused, your nice remix didn't help much here unfortunately :|

Could you be more specific?

Yes. I noticed some other things as well, I'll see if I can give you an op on that in the next days, at least at the weekend ;)

I wasn't happy with it ether, the build up seemed to fall kinda flat.

Well you already know I liked this vid alot ;p I dunno about buildup falling kinda flat, but I did tell you the end seemed a bit rushed. I thought the mood synch and action synch was great though. I don't think theres any major beat synch flaws JCD, Theres a few synchs that seem weird, but look at it again, it is synched, just not how you probably expect it to be. I beta tested this alot, so I've pretty much seen every detail ;p I'll agree the audio source is a little overused though.

I'll write up an op soon. ^^
