I think this is a good maxim to follow.jbone wrote:Lots of people start with downloaded clips/fansubs. These will let you make something, but your finished video won't look very good. Rather, you should use DVD source for the best results.
Not only can you filter out subtitles using DVD Decryptor, but you can also get better quality footage than fansubs.
It takes more work, but the clips you get as a result are 10x better than any fansub or second-hand clip.
If you have InuYasha on DVD, you should consider using it instead if possible. If you don't have any on DVD, save up some money and buy a few of the many volumes out there (or better yet, get the First Season boxset -- a lot of episode for a fair price).

Most of the folks around here will say "NO". Personally, I don't care about subtitles; if they're there, they're there; if they're not, they're not. Anyways, it's your AMV; you make it however you want to make it.

amv
Well I want to make it look like an opening for Inuyasha and I think by using it with subs will make it look more like a real opening but I also think that people will think that the quality is bad. So that's why I'm asking about that.

I'm not sure about this. I see what you're trying to achieve, but on the other hand, subtitles have this nasty side-effect of always (or almost) causing the watcher to look at them rather than pay attention to the images behind. No matter how well they fit the action (sometimes they do, after all), they're still being a distraction, especially that lots of people here have been used to watch anime subtitled for years, and thus are instinctively "drawn" to them, so to say.
Now, one of the above suggestions could be good - you could get rid of the subtitles, make your AMV, then experiment with custom "subtitles" (text) of your own, to see if it looks well or not. It'll be easier to get rid of these again, rather than work with subtitled footage to finally realize in the end that it doesn't fit things very well.
