To Opinion or Not to Opinion

Post by HeavyMetal » Wed Apr 20, 2005 11:29 pm

Thought I would get some input on this.

If you download older videos, should you leave an opinion?

If the person has made new videos since then they may not need or want an opinion on an older vid. I image they would hopefully have improved beyond the flaws of older videos.

In my opinion, I say sure.

I don't see any harm from getting more input or thoughts from viewers, no matter how old the video was. Though the improvement aspect may lose its importance as time passes, I don't think it's ever too late to receive comments on what they thought of your video.

I like getting feedback on older vids because it reminds me of what things I used to do that people liked, and what things I'm *still* doing even though I know people don't like them.

And there's always the chance that a person will notice something no one else did, in which case, it's great to hear from them, no matter how long the vid has been available. I got one of those recently where the person noticed something about the editing pattern that no one else had really brought my attention to.

I actually wish people would review some of my older works. It shows they took the time to actually download and watch it. . . and they have something to say about it, regardless of technical/aesthetic merit or editing skill in relation to when it was made. It's like commenting on an old album or movie, feedback is always good.

Yeah, I don't really make a distinction on older versus newer vids when I'm leaving an opinion. If I enojyed the video and would like to leave an opinion on it, the age of the vid doesn't really matter to me. However, if I've seen one of the creator's newer vids, and I see that they've fixed an issue they also may have had in their previous video, I'll take that improvement into account.

Absolutely. Positively. Definitely.

I do appreciate opinions in all my videos. Even though 3 of them are from 2003. And I will acknowledge your opinions- even if it takes me a week to do so.

I try to OP all (or almost all) the AMVs I download from the site. I appreciate feedback very much- and can only imagine other people appreciating it as well. I do not leave flames or give out 1's no matter how much I dislike a video. I have never given out straight 10's either- I got those once with minimal explanation, which left me almost as confused as if I had gotten straight 1's with just a flame.

Yeah I think so too. I try to give opinions to every music video I download ^_^

Some of them I didn't. But I would like to know sometimes how come you get about 60 or 70 people download your videos and then you only have about 1,2,or 3 opinions from some of them. How come no one else gave an opinion? they didn't like it or something?. I suppose or they forgot. Or just gave a star and didn't care about leaving an opinion. But it doesn't really matter I was just wandering. lol. At least I've gotten about 1 or 3 opinions for my mvs from people that really loved them. I LOVE getting opinions it is always nice to hear what other people think of my mvs.

I think that everyone should give opinions if they liked it or not it helps us amv creators to improve our work if there was something wrong with our vids. ^_^

I leave an opinion to every AMV I've downloaded. It's always good to leave opinions. Even if the video creator doesn't need anymore advices for improving himself opinions are good for the people who want to download the video. When there are opinions they can see if the video is good or not that good.

Holy crap... i couldnt possibly leave an opinion on every video i download simply because i usually spend around 20 mins per opinion. As for u ppl who do, I admire that and im pretty sure that everybody would appreciate.

As for ops on older vids, i dont really have older vids but i would imagine that its always nice. The other day i got an op on my first vid which was very nice cuz i could read and see that i actually had improved a lot in my second vid.
