Yeah, I know what you mean, but that's very hard, and things truly are limited; the storyline for example may go perfectly with the lyrics of a song, and yet are always done in stumpy pixelly text-box mode in Final Fantasy VII and VIII with very few exceptions. That's what I mean by the limits. Also, with CG, it's nearly impossible to do good lip-syncs or to edit specific frames or isolate layers. It's a media with a choke-chain collar. :/

Samurai Deeper Kyo. It has very pretty animation, flashy samurai fights, some colored magical 'summon' type scenes - namely Suzaku and Byakko (yes, the same firebird and white tiger used in Yami no Matsuei). There are some effeminate characters, buy Kyo is masculine with plenty of scenes.

Samurai Champloo looks interesting, no idea yet cuz I just found it. SDK I hear had a very perverted manga; is the anime like that too? I'm sensitive about such "humor" (nothing humorous about some of that stuff to me.

I read the manga out of curiosity - it's *much* worse than the anime. The manga has Kyo squeezing a breast in nearly every part. ^_^;; I stopped reading after the first 5 volumes, but it was pretty consistent with the female-breast-squeezes...

The anime has a little funny fanservice of Kyo being a horn dog, but it only lasts the first episode and it's not strong, just funny to watch - the girl holds her own. It's more of an action/drama/political war games anime with a supernatural twist to give them their special 'powers' and light romance. You do get some naked female shots (two of the villains fight half naked), but it's not really crude at all. I dislike that sort of fanservice, but this one was toned down to a tolerable level. ^.~

If you have a Netflix account you can rent it - it's 5 dvds, I think.
