Remastered "Tonight" Vid!

Post by ShivaBlizzard8 » Mon Dec 06, 2004 11:39 pm

I finally upgraded my software and took another stab at my "Tonight" video, considering that most of the neg comments had to do with quality. Hopefully that has improved since my original attempt.

The footage is from FF8 and the song is "Tonight and the Rest of My Life" by Nina Gordon. My goal was to actually make an FF8 vid that was different (aka not all about Squall) and either use 1) footage that isn't ususally included in vids or 2) use old footage in a unique way. I hope you enjoy it, and all feedback is appreciated, as long is it is something other than "I hate FF8." Sorry, I like it. :)

Note - you need DivX player to view this video.

Hopefully that has improved since my original attempt.
Hmm..The video quality was still quite bad with the macroblocking small squares.
1) footage that isn't ususally included in vids
:?: I don't know what you mean here, but if my assumption's right,
most scenes used in your video are commonly used ones. (of course, it really can't get helped with all the footage lackage off FF8.)
2) use old footage in a unique way.
I can say that you have used the 'old film effect' succesfully in your video.

Overall:
It was ok, but I thought there were a lot of areas that can be improved on.
Concept-wise, I can see how you tried to execute it, and I must say that was not a wasted effort.
No solid editing/quality as I would have enjoyed the full extent to, but the theme of your AMV was quite well.
Good job.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Yeah - I don't know why the D-Vision DivX encoder did that. It's still an improvement over the last one, but I'm going to be searching for a better encoder.

The hardest part of any FF vid is the lack of footage, but I guess I meant the outer space scenes, which don't usually get as much air time.

Thank you! I apprechiate the comments.
