French Iron Chefs: Remastered & Uploaded

First of all, yes, I am not French. However, I speak some of it and I like Iron Chefs. So there you go!

Last summer, AMVdeFans ran a weekly Iron Chef throughout a good chunk of the season. It was started by LCY84, and the future coordinators depended on whoever won the match. Oh yeah, and they were 24 hour long matches.

I went through around 3 matches; a couple I announced in a temporary direct form here on the Org forums, and just recently I decided to remaster them (and fix some errors that bugged me

) and add them to the Org after around 3-4 months. So here they are!

Match 3 - "We Will Rock You"

This one was difficult, since I lost my connection around half an hour before I got my music, so I had to run to a friend's and download the Iron Chef song, burn it to a CD, and run back home to edit. I had around 4 hours of editing at home the first night, and woke up at 6:00 the next morning and finished at 2:00 pm (the deadline). I'm very happy with the final version.

Match 5 - "Another World"

This is my least favorite (but most popular) Iron Chef video, since I have a lot of sloppy edits. However, they were not fixed, since most people didn't seem to mind when I asked them- and plus I didn't have any new ideas of what to do there ;p. I tried some new filtering/encoding methods with this one, and I'm happy with it (to say the least). The quality/resolution is much better than it was when I first temporarily hosted/accounced it.

Match 7 - "Sky's The Limit"

This is my most proud (but least popular ;p) Iron Chef video, since I put a lot of work into getting the editing just right, matching the aura-esque noises of the music and matching the feel of video. I also edited on this one the most, nearly not sleeping the whole night (the other ones I rested so I could get up early)... However, JCD won this one in the end.

"Another World"

Great editing. Absolutely loved the intro and ending with the 'clicks.'
The TV scene idea was great, but I felt was used for too long.
Semi orgasm.

"Sky's The Limit"
Wow! This one was gold. I don't know how this can be the least popular.
It was beautifully executed in my opinion, and one of the better eva amvs I have ever seen.
0:17- great use of effect with Asuka.
1:20-1:23/ That was the best scene throughout the whole amv, and wow- the keying was exellent. It looks wonderful.

All 3 made it into my AMV collection.
I enjoyed Sky's The Limit the most, followed very closely by Another World and We Will Rock You
I enjoyed each and every one of them.

All of the french iron chefs have deserved more popularity. It's amazing what some editors can do in just 24 hours, quite often the effort put into such a video is not far away from a 'real' AMV (including mine

)

Thanks AMVfreak. I was just as shocked as you were when Sky's The Limit didn't go too well with the judges, since I put so much work into it... but I'm real happy you took the time to watch all of them.

And JCD, you'd be surprised how many people favor that one.

You already know what i think about your vids Maverick : i like them

After rewatching these 3 vids, i think i prefer the rahxephon's one like JCD.
The naruto s one is really funny and the latest on evagelion very well done but this 7th IC was the most difficult to judge because there was many good vids.

yes, very true considering we can work 20h non stop on our amv, which is hard

(this was my case for the 6th Iron chef)
