• Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
 • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Gravitation: The Acceptance Speech (short, goofy, pointless)

Post by SarahtheBoring » Thu Oct 28, 2004 12:21 am

Wasn't gonna have a thread for something this short and not so great, but hey, we've been waiting a long freakin' time for this series to come out on DVD, haven't we. Give us Gravi videos with shiny clean source! Oh, yes.

The Acceptance Speech
Anime: Gravitation (TV) (no spoilers)
Song: "If You Were Gay" from the musical Avenue Q

When you REALLY want your best friend to know you're fine with that, even though he denies that there is a "that," up, down, and sideways. But you're TOTALLY fine with that. Totally. ...but you're not gay.

Inspired by Hiro and Shuichi, but executed with Ryuichi and Shuichi because Hiro is just too serious.

It's a little over a minute and a half long. And, if you haven't heard of Avenue Q, it sounds quite a bit like a bizarro-world Sesame Street. And it's very funny. This isn't the funniest song from it, by far, but it's still pretty good.

It's not the greatest thing since cheese, but I had a blast making it, and I hope it entertains you for just under two minutes. Enjoy.

Darn the 10 star ratings rule... as soon as I've watched some of the videos on my un-starred list, I'll be sure to get this. You already saw my comments on the beta. :)

Oh, yeah. (also not a good idea to post a beta after two days. ^_^; ) Well, thanks. I hope you like the finished product.

Ha, that was absolutely great. I really got a kick out of this one; lots of laugh-out-loud moments. Seriously, nice one Sarah. This is the best new comedy vid I've seen in quite a while.

out of curiousity...what did you use to encode it? I'm getting alot of green and red noise and lines and I'd like to see it clearly because I think it's really good! ^^b

Sounds like it's supposed to parody Bert and Ernie to me. :P

I gotta get this one. XD

I can recall that being the case.

Great comedy video. One of the best I've seen in awhile as well.

That was really cute. :) The poor red-haired guy...

The mouth movements seemed to be a few frames behind the audio for the first verse or so, but nothing serious.

One question, though... any particular reason you left the audio uncompressed? (Of course, with such a short video, it doesn't hurt the filesize that much, but just wondering.)
