Ditto with a cherry on top.Arigatomyna wrote: Instead, try playing 'nice' about it - explaining that when you take footage you need to cite that footage. Be helpful and tell him what he needs to do so he won't get in trouble on the org - cite his source the way everyone else does. Tell him that you're sure he didn't realize anyone would get upset, and that you know he didn't mean any harm, but that what he did really isn't appreciated - but that he can make ammends by asking permission next time - or if that's not an option, merely crediting the person whose work he used in his own vid.
I haven't looked at this guys videos (Or the OP), but before everyone breaks out the torches and pitchforks, is this guy possibly a Noob? (Ok, judging by comments that this guy has made more than a couple of videos we may be stretching the argument.) A month ago >I< didn't know that 'borrowing' footage from other videos was frowned on until I read a post where someone else wanted to lynch someone who had used clips from his videos. If my first video had used scenes clipped from another's videos (Not special effects, just clipped 'normal' scenes) would I have expected to have been tarred and feathered? Not likely. A long time ago I made a social faux pas on a chat board and was flamed out of existance. (A great way to kill any interest in a new hobby. This is a good part of the reason why even though I've been a member here since 2002, nobody heard anything from me until a month ago.) Someone in authority 'kindly' explaining what is acceptable and what isn't is what is needed here.

he stole youre vid man?Himiko wrote:I got an email today from a fan telling me that someone ripped off footage from a mvid of mine. She claimed that what they ripped from me was footage from my most recent mvid, 'The World Turned Over'.
After watching it, I can safely say that this 'creator' ripped off more than 60% of my mvid... putting in a few extra scenes of his/her own to make it look less fishy...
I don't know if Phade is still here or not, but would one of the mods *please* remove this mvid, and possibly ban this cheating scum off the face of the Org? *sighs*
I don't know how these people think they can get away with stuff like this...
Compare for yourselves...

Himiko if you want more affermitive action, report in the Mod Box.
Also.....get more of your vids up on local *shakes fists*
forgive me if im just confused but
does getting videos on local download have any particular benefits for this situation?
i totally agree with what arigatomyna said
it wont help being aggressive until you try being assertive first
when that doesnt work
bring aggressive can be pretty.....satisfying
hehehe
