Are you asking about those round black discs, with grooves, that make music?
You mean discs haven't always been shiny?

Actually, I googled the word "record", and I found a definition that references something called "writing", and another thing called "paper". I did understand the part about information.
Having been a techno junkie all my life, I envy the young people, all the high tech "toys" at your diposal, and so many years to grow with them.
So when does tech become part of the societal instinct? Cars, television, computers, among other inventions - they've become so pervasive that people intuitively know the basic principles behind them. Computers especially - in the last 20 years we've developed a new means of communication, complete with its own etiquette and language. It's almost as if babies are born knowing that a semicolon and a close parenthesis can be merged to make a winky face.
Bringing it back on-topic, I think this instinct that the 25-and-under generation has developed affects narrative style more than anything else. Tech has made available new methods of storytelling, both linear and nonlinear, and new methods of delivering a story. After all, used to be you had to be published in order for lots of people to read your stuff.
So anyway, back on-topic again. I don't think age has much to do with the ability to make a good video; I do think it affects what kind of videos one makes, though.
Or not. I have expended many words and have returned to the original question of this thread without providing an answer. But I did get to work both my fascination with shinies and the term "winky face" into a conversation, so I am happy.
CPFuller, out!
To paraphrase one Mr. Cool James, please refrain from referring to it as a revival, I've been lurking for ages.
