New AMV : Metropolis - To burn

Post by Roccket » Mon May 31, 2004 6:06 pm

Hi everybody.

So here's my new AMV which features the anime Metropolis and the song "what it is to burn" by the band Finch.

You can have it here : http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=39940

I really hope you'll enjoy because I do, and it would be perfect if you can give an op

Hey not bad :)

Good song choice ,and I liked it some of your act/lyrics sync , you have a good sense of timing , but have some drums beats/guitar chords that would be better if you synchronize those parts with scenes cutsor effects.
But that's the editing style that *I* enjoy more , you don't have to pay attention for what I said about your act/sync if you don't like vids synchronized to every beat of the song. O_o

The capture quality it's good , but have some parts that are a bit blocky (example 1:04 ~ 1:06) , i can't imagine what you have done wrong , but maybe if you decrease the resolution a bit you can make a better encoding.
One more thing , I noticed too , some scanlines during your vid , I can't be sure if this is a problem with interlacing or if you haven't setted your vid to be exported with "no fileds"

Other than that , I liked it.
The song and anime choice worked well. ^^
Nothing usefull here .

Hmm well to be honest the song was HORRIBLE. :) Good job with the actual editing though, this is one of the rare videos where white flashes actually work. The part where the flashes faded to white which filled the screen was good. But I couldn't fully enjoy it because the song was standard loud modern rock, which all sounds the same to me. :/

Well, thanks for yous reviews :)

I know that there's somme crappy points in the video, but I'm not really an expert in encoding, and I was tired of testing all the settings, so I chose the one that looked best.

For Janzki, sorry, you didn't like the song, and I know that it could sounds like "standart loud modern rock" for much, people, but hey, I'm a good public (dunno if that's the right term in english).

(And no, I don't want to let this post sink into the abysses of that forum with only 2 replies  ).

Please don't apologize for using music you like, you shouldn't do that, it sounds very wrong to me. Make your videos to the songs you want to. If people like them, fine, if not, it doesn't matter. I personally just didn't like this particular song very much, but there are probably millions who love it. :)

wow dude. it may be because im new at makin amv's or cuz i just suck at it but i like this amv. i may not be as credible as Janzki or Paulo but i think its good. the song and the anime matched really nicely. makes me want to find Metropolis and watch it.

and i liked the song. a year ago i probably would have thought the same thing Janzki did but i'm getting into rock and stuff now.

anywayz yea. i was like "wow" throughout the video. i'm pretty simple-minded though. if i think it matches well i most likely give it a four or five. i'd give this a five though.

Yes, you really should watch it, that's a wonderful movie.

I'm glad you liked my video, and of course I consider your opinion as much as others.
