Usually it's just me at home editing at all hours of the night while my cat claws at the door (that gets annoying really quick), but since I've stayed back at my house on campus it's been a lot better...2 of 5 roommates have left so it's pretty quiet all the time...More than 18 inches of personal space, sugar, and creativity...too bad I have to leave in a month

Working conditions, (looks around)
I have my cave here in the basement, my homebrewed computer, my piles of parts and magazines (I'm a pack rat).
My distractions are my TV, next to my monitor, playing SciFi channel, auto racing, or some new anime I borrowed from my son.
Sometimes my wife calls down complaining that I spend all my time on this thing.
Well then, there's useless distractions, like work, eating, and sleeping.

Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I edit almost exclusively from the hours of 11pm-5am. Thats when the rest of the world shuts the fuck up and I can think in peace and quiet.
Editing in the daytime produces mediocore results everytime I try. Something happens to the brain during the night that helps me think much clearer and lets ideas come to me much faster. The only editing I can do during the day is maybe touch up the rough sdtuff I've laid down during the night. Nothing new happens during the day.
Maybe I'm just weird

I'm sharing a room with my brother which is sometimes pretty annoying when I'm editing, especially when he listen's to his music loud. Then he's younger than me that means he goes to bed earlier than me so I can't edit any further.
So, best times to edit for me are when he's away which is fortunately quite often
Daytimes I'm either at work or doing something else than sitting in front of my computer, in the evening I check my mails & stuff, then mostly after 9 pm I'm getting to Premiere for a few hours. My mood doesn't matter me much, editing turns it into a good one anyway
When I really want to edit right now I just do it, no matter what condition.
And now I'm completely alone here for 3 days but can't edit because my PC is messed up with malware >_<

I live in my own apartment in a quiet neighborhood...so my main distraction during editing is AIM
Also, I generally put on a DVD on the TV behind me...for some reason, I need the background noise (though if I put on something I really like, I end up watching it instead of editing).
On very rare occasions, I've found it necessary to put an away message up on AIM and turn off the DVD, if there's something I really need to concentrate on in the video.

I have no idea how to use this new forum.
