That's one of the problems with Naruto. I don't much care for the begining either, but after the first 15 or so episodes the maturity level jumps way up. When it starts he's still in school and it's pretty immature, but afterwards it gets into kill or be killed situations and starts introducing deeper more interesting themes. I would say give it a chance but that's just my oppinion.

There's no way any series can be "inherently better" for making AMVs than another. If you think all you can do with DBZ is the "slugfest"-type video, you haven't done an inch of exploration with the footage in that series. The potential for dark comedy has barely been touched on, but is more than available, for example.

Naruto may hit you over the head with the different genres it tries to represent, but DBZ has them all available, too... you just have to work for it... which fanboys tend not to do. That's not to say it's NOT THERE (it is), but most 12-year-olds aren't willing to put that much effort into it :P.

Don't get me wrong, I love both shows a great deal... but when people say you can't do more with DBZ, it shows a sense of being blind ^^.

X2

DB series have almost 500 eps and over 20 movies(togheter with specials). And if someone says that out of all that a good DBZ video cannot be made or some unusual & original one, then that same guy never seen the whole series or didn't even bother to think about it in different ways. I'm very close to making a horror DB/Z/GT video. And I mean REAL horror  . lol

This thread makes me wonder when Castor's going to do a DBZ/Naruto crossover video. 8)

Ah, I guess if I can't have a DBZ/YYH crossover, a DBZ/Naruto would be the next best. ;p

But one of these days someone will have to do a shoujo crossover vid. I'm tired of seeing the guys duke it out, I want to see a Sailormoon/Rayearth crossover. All these great male editors making crossovers and no girl-on-girl action vids? For shame. :?

What is wrong with you people? :?
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Sorry about that, I agree that no anime is "inherently better" for AMV's. I was tired when I wrote that and was just being stupid. Dito with the potential thing, what I was trying to say that people are more likely to do a difrent genre than action with a Naruto vid because, as you said, it practically hits you over the head with it.

I did not mean to say that DBZ doen't have the potential to do all sorts of things, only that people tend to stick to a certain kind of video.

bote, if you do make that vid, pm me or somthing, I'm always looking for "real" horror vids. And I have seen a lot of DB/Z/GT and I like it as a series I just think that it's more likly to be abused (that is, used in a poorly made action vid.)
