An additional thought about Final Fantasy XIII-2's soundtrack. It seriously suffers from jukebox-itis. Why write an "aggressive mix" for each of the locations' themes if it's only going to play for a couple of seconds before you switch to the standard battle track? They needed to take a cue from Kingdom Hearts here and have each area with its unique battle theme. The "aggressive mix" idea seems like wasted effort for all that it's used, really.
Also, forgot to mention this in my last post, but one thing that I truly appreciated in this game is that the lyrics of the vocalized songs are actually relevant to the game. Even when they're a little hokey ("Worlds Collide" comes to mind), at least they pertain to what you're actually doing. I've gotten used to the Japan-ism of having totally fucking non-sensical lyrics, and so having this took me aback slightly, but in a good way.
Um, what else? I showed my brother Bayonetta. That was fun. He spared no effort in telling me how Not. Sexy. At. All. Bayonetta is. He did enjoy watching it, though. He also enjoyed watching me fail repeatedly at quicktime events. Fucking quicktimes. Only in that game, seriously.
