Re: Kara no Kyoukai: Can you see AMV
Drop me a PM after you've removed the watermark, I'd like to watch but I find my eyes glancing upwards and all over instead of focusing on the vid.
Edit: I decided I might as well watch it, wasn't too fond of the tv-simulator effect you used but overall it was a good watch, slightly random at parts but not bad, keep it up. 3.5/5 (Heh, I'm a sucker for t.A.T.u.)

I've reuploaded it as a 'clean version' just so you know^^「ijexis」 wrote:Drop me a PM after you've removed the watermark, I'd like to watch but I find my eyes glancing upwards and all over instead of focusing on the vid.

The ending isn't ideal and was sort of rushed to completion, (working on and off for 3 months really made me just want to finish the video) Where I couldn't match scenes to the lyrics, I improvised. It's mostly prominent in the beginning of the AMV. Also contributing to the randomness was that I didn't really set out to tell a story, it was just a sync and lyrics relation AMV.
Personally I dislike using the TV simulator too, but I found it the easiest way to sync with the almost static noise in the audio in the sections of the audio
How would you approach syncing to that sound?
Thank you for the feedback, as every little bit helps me improve!

good stuff, now that the watermark is gone, I'd definitely vote this through to the finals in next years VCA 'best first vid' category =)

Wow, yeah, that was impressive for a first video. I mean, there's some technical flaws (deinterlacing), but overall flow and coherency is up there. Good job mate.

I hope I didn;t spoil something for myself by watching that last scene in your video O_O (have yet to watch beyond the first 2 dvds)
Probably not a "first" video outside of this site, since he/she said they had their stuff stolen in the past, but even still, def good stuff, I enjoyed it.
and thanks for doing the clean version, I def would not have liked watermark, no matter how inconspicuous. (don't even like it on tv broadcast footage.)

Ahh gosh, I hope I labeled the video correctly as it has spoilers (orangey-red means it contains spoilers right?)Bakadeshi wrote:I hope I didn;t spoil something for myself by watching that last scene in your video O_O (have yet to watch beyond the first 2 dvds)

sorry if it does spoil anything when you eventually watch the other movies, (just don't think of this video when you watch them. That way everything is still a surprise^^)
And just for clarity:
I am male.
This isn't my first AMV. Though I haven't made many. At most around 8 videos and only three of those serious attempts.

Completely understandable, and tad randomness didn't bother me as much, just wanted to point it out. As for the TV Simulator, yea, it's quite the easiest way to go about syncing to audio like that but it's used quite a bit. Especially since when a certain video blew up on the tube, every which way I went, back when I actually watched all the vids sent to me on there, nothing but TV Simulator that I get a bit sick seeing it. As for going about syncing to it, it depends, I don't do effects heavy vids, but as long as it integrates well with the video I suppose. That's just the problem I have with TV Simulator, at times it can seem to be really detached from the vid and doesn't seem to fit well. But that's just my view.Azure Vermillion wrote:I've reuploaded it as a 'clean version' just so you know^^「ijexis」 wrote:Drop me a PM after you've removed the watermark, I'd like to watch but I find my eyes glancing upwards and all over instead of focusing on the vid.

Best first video!
Awesome, even though it lacked allot, and those scanlines and some of the chroma keys were really iffy, this is really good for a first video!

Yeah, most of the masking I did toward the end of the video, so it was all rushed. Looking at it now, I did get pretty lazy at the fujino scene - the last mask was really off. I've never used chroma keys before, and not too sure what you mean by scanlines ( I think you are referring to the lines that appear when I pan/crop adjusted some scenes.) nor do I have any clue on how to fix reduce. As they were even present when I didn't compress my video at all.Neverend wrote:Best first video!

When you say it lacked alot, how could I have made it more wholesome?
Thank you though, for pointing those things out

Hey, those scanlines are to do with the interlacing from the original DVD source. It may pay to have a read at this: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... deo2.htm#1
Should explain some things and further in that tutorial are instructions on how to remove them. Bit of a tricky art, but once you get it right, you'll wonder why you never did it to start with.
