Sephiration Anxiety

Took me a long time, feels like four years (har har...), but here’s my first AMV. Please don’t bother downloading it if you dislike Advent Children and/or Genesis (the band). That’s like hating stewed tomatoes, ordering them at a restaurant and then complaining to the cook that they were soft and squishy. THANK YOU!

Oh yeah, and I have no idea if the person who left the comment will read this, but since I don't know who you are, this will become public knowledge and hopefully help rid the world of bad looking AC AMVs:

Want yours to look like mine? Rip AC straight up, whack its AVS with VDM, but leave its PAR/DAR alone. Crank up the levels on with scenes with a lot of white in them (if possible) because they're not actually white, but they should be. Then whack it again with VDM after it's been exported from your program of choice, this time with some smoothing/sharpening filters and whatnot, then resize up to 720x400. BAM. I hate Emeril, why did I say that?

I picked this up off the New Vid on the Block earlier today, because the video description really perked my interest (hard to say for an AC AMV). Also, I kinda know who you are from #AMV-Review. Unfortunately, I haven't had time all day to watch it, and I probably won't have any 'til a bit later, but I'll be sure to report back when I watch it...

Yep, sounds good. Thanks!

I wonder which description you read? Hopefully the most recent one...I had to hack it down because I got overzealous...that and some people were confused about how serious I was trying to be with this AMV, my description was kind of involved at one point and came off a lot more pretentious that I intended. Now I feel like I have to apologize to everyone who downloaded it thinking they were going to get something they didn't.

OH well.

Okay, so I noticed you talking about this one in your journal, and I had planned to download it whenever you released it. I have to say... not what I expected, but that's not a bad thing at all in this case. I like Genesis, but I did a double take when I saw it with AC.

I think what I like best about this video is that you actually do some storytelling by using more of the non-combative scenes with Sephiroth. I seriously haven't seen some of those ever used decently in a video, or at all in many cases.

It'll probably get kinda lost in the sea of AC videos, but I liked it and I think it's worth a watch for anyone who's sick of seeing this movie in a solely action-based nature. Nice for your first AMV, and it's promising for the future. ^_^

Me left you an op as you know 8-) And once again: nice work!

Also:

Ahem, I only read most of the entries starting from when you had edited about 70 hours already ^^ And what comes to the action, yes, I deffinitely noticed this wasn't meant to be "an action video". But there was action in it and that's what I was talking about ;)

YES. You have no idea how refreshing this video was to me. I'm so damn sick of the typical, forgettable AC crap that the .org is simply flooded with. THIS, however, is unlike any AC AMV I've ever seen. I can only think of one or two other AC videos that actually have a concrete, discernable story to them, but this one does VERY well in the storytelling aspect. I also like how the entire video takes place in "real time", as it were...I could easily see the events in this video transpiring in a mere two or three minutes.

Overall, this is something completely original and fresh, and when it comes to this anime that's something I personally really value in a video. I found this to be a very well-edited, smooth vid that will definitely warrant more watches in the future.

4.5/5, and a hearty "Thank you" for making this

Only at 70 hours? You missed all the best parts! LOL Someday I'm going to take the initiative and make an AMV scrapbook with screenshots from projects and excerpts from my journal. It should be quite amusing.
The action was hard to pry myself away from, actually, the fight scenes and my music synched almost perfectly, a lazy/n00b action AMVers dream come true. Want proof? The Omnislash sequence accidentally fell onto the timeline exactly where it remains to this day. Scary, I know.

Ah, I've been hearing this from more than a few people, which makes me very happy because that was the second most important thing to me while making this AMV. - make it something different, AC-wise (different in a good way, of course). The first being to just have fun.

Much thanks to everyone!

Wow....this was different from your typical FFVII AC vid
(Although it may just be the song :D)
Nah, I liked the storytelling to it, it was very interesting. Plus, liked how some of the fights were edited up a bit (Although this may not be new, I just haven't watched many AC vids to know for sure)

4/5. Good stuff.
