My first video was pretty typical... fansubs, random scenes... I remember finishing the video, then importing the wmv file back into wmm over and over again to change/add scenes. It's listed, but not uploaded.

I don't think I still have a copy of it... but now I'd kind of like to see it again.

I made my first ever AMV before I even knew about the .org, or that AMVs were any big thing in general. My friend showed me a few he had downloaded, and as soon as I got home from his house I took a PC game called Independence War, copied the cinemas from the CD to my HDD, opened up WMM2 and made two craptacular videos with them.

After that I moved onto the FMVs from my PC copy of FFVII, then to fansubbed FLCL stuff my friend gave me, and then I pretty much forgot about AMVs for two years.

And last year I randomly remembered AMVs, made my way to the .org, and started up again. The first AMV I uploaded here was another FLCL video, and I was actually really proud of it. I still like it better than some of my other videos, but I'm not about to go around saying it's good. It's nothing I'm terribly embarrassed about either though (unlike the first several AMVs I made; all are entered into the .org's catalogue but will never be available for download).

No, I don't have any of my first videos posted up here, I do have a couple old ones and 1 newest one. Bad thing was that I uploaded them in all the wrong order...I'm thinking about putting all of the ones I made up here though even if they are horrible.

I first discovered this hobby by accident, I got bored and decided to explore to see what was on the pc that I haven't tried yet because all I used it for was homework and internet. I found this program called WMM and I opened it up to try it. I had no footage to use so I recorded myself with my webcam just to see if I could get the program to work...and it didn't work to well lol. Then I heard you could use video game footage, so I went and learned how to rip fmvs and then tried again in WMM. Then I tried it with music and the next thing I know I was hooked. And that's how I started.

You gotta be kidding me, that was your first? Dayum, nice way to start. It/they rocked pretty good if I'm thinking of the right thing.

To the OP:

Go ahead and post your first vid. You may not get grand accolades for it, but the criticisms can be useful.

I only ever did one pure solo video, everything else was a multi-editor project.
Still, the one vid was a nice reference to get me in to those other projects, so no regrets there.

Just do it. You can make more vids later, and improve upon the first. Nice to be able to see the history of editors as they progress.

I started 2001 and until 2005 they were all bullshit and not really worthy. So I decided to upload the first 3 years later.

You know it´s pretty hard and annoying to edit on a 266 Mhz system with Ulead Video Studio. Well better said: it´s crap.

The first was: Randomn scenes, DBZ, Rammstein, subs, flap lip sync. Hey but I think it´s sometimes better than other videos. I mean those who use only one scene -.-'

The first released:
Hunting the Undead
Ok it was randomn (but honestly: Do you want a storyline with those crazy lyrics?), Hellsing, subtitles, .rm (lol!). However there was a good timing in it.

I guess the next video was a good step forward with more timing, horrible visual quality and white flashes (*g*). I´m pleased as it is. Mission to Hell.

The real kickstart was with this one:

Good atmosphere, the visual quality could be still better, good cuts, nice effects (imo), style, lip sync should be better. I guess, I should make a remake.

Afterwards I had a very good increase in thermes of good amvs and quality. I make good vids (I guess =P ). Thx to my new PC, editing got more interessting and fun ^^ Wohoo.

So the first amv doesn´t tell you anything about the editor in future.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

I actually started with fanvideos made to live-action movies. I thought my first creation was good, and unfortunately so did the people commenting it on you-tube.. So, thinking that my craptacular first videos were actually good, I continued editing those and progressed veeery slowly for all I got was you-tube comments, and no matter how BAD the video is, people on you-tube will love it. (and mind you, I'm not saying it's other people's fault that I was a slow learner. I just had the illusion my videos were good) If you want to improve your editing seek for pro opinions  They're a lot of help~

Since every real comment I have to make has been pretty much posted by Oto, I shall declare this topic fail for not yet posting K-type. You all dissappoint me.

I made my first AMV the day before I knew the org  (November 22nd), but I uploaded it in December here (don't remember why :P). Anyway I know its crappy, it has downloaded footage, logos, subs, images WITH subs lol and it uses an overused song :P. yay, right? still is one of my personal favs :3.

AND surprinsingly it has a good star score O.o (even better than some of my Vegas vids XD). So yeah anyone is free to check it out, but I don't recommend it
