Sorry conspiracy theorist, but this a debunk from a fellow conspiracy theorist. (But I won't get into those.)

First studies done on subliminal tapes have proven the only thing that changes is the persons perception of themselves.

If they buy say a CD to improve memory or something they will think their memory is better but it won't be.

Backwards messages. Doesn't matter.

You can put backwards messages all you want, but they won't work.

Your brain doesn't have a mechanism to hear something and descramble the signal backward.

(Yeah that’s right the supposed 'Do It' message that Judas Priest was accused of was bull. They of course won the court case.)

I mean what kind of evolutionary advantage would hearing things backwards grant.

If you want satan messages there is plenty of music that has that when played forwards.

Backwards messages are a matter of perception and coincidence. When you play something backwards.....you just here it backwards.

Perception

Your brain by nature tries to organize and make sense of the reality around it.

That can mean it screws it up trying to make sense out that which does not make sense.

If you here messages when playing music backwards, it is a matter of perception.

Your brain attempts to make a sound it considers speech into a cognitive dialogue.

So if you here it backwards it is the same damn message as when you play it forwards just in reverse.

If science and fact aren't enough consider this.

Think of how hard it would be to sit and come up with lyrics that when combined with music make a message backwards.

Yeah some musicians can hear the notes in their heads before hand, but you can't play a song truly backwards with out electronic equipment like a computer.

Sure you could try to speak backwards and play the notes in reverse, but it would not work, due the way the vibrations of notes and human speech work.

In other words, if a musician played backwards the fading of the vibrations would still go forwards.

So it would be damn near impossible to consciously do a backwards message that actually made sense forwards as well.


Where the Rumors come from.

People like church groups, rebelious punks, and ignorant parents like to make things up about Rock for their own selfish reasons.

Sure people like Maryln Manson say satan hell yeah, but most of the devil rumors about rock are made up.

(Personally I think MM doesn't believe it, but just does it to irritate conformist that think their crap smells of roses. I'd peg him more as an agnostic if I had to guess.)

I met an artist/comedian that had a conspiracy theory for the against the backwards rumors.

He said Radioshack started them.

They new tapes were coming so they wanted to get rid of their back stock of turntables.

Turntables not being meant to play backwards can bust easily when spun backwards to much.

As for the coincidences, its just perception.

Making AMVs I listen to music backwards a lot to pick up down beats and certain sounds that are easier to pin point backwards.

So when I first listened to those songs on the site backwards it just came off as garble to me. I actually had to try to here something for it make words.

Mind or rather the brain just attempts to make sense of reality, sometimes a little too indiscremanetly.

However I wish I had been better with my word selection in the previous post.

I should have used backwards and reverse more carefully.

To play a song backwards is to invert it.

To play it reverse would be to play the pattern in the opposite direction.

Here is an example lets say that the odd numbers are one note say D and the even numbers are maybe E. As the numbers get smaller it is the fading of the vibration.

Pattern 5-3-1-6-4-2

Reverse 6-4-2-5-3-1

Backwards 2-4-6-1-3-5
