Go Back to Sleep (Remix)

Post by Warlocket » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:32 pm

Title: Go Back to Sleep (Remix)
Video: Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame II, Fatal Frame III
Audio: Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums
Artist: Perfect Circle
Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=151531

I'm mainly putting this up in the announcement thread because Fatal Frame isn't that well known of a game and I'd really like some feedback since I worked so hard on this, yet I seem to be getting a lot of three's on it...which is weird because the original video has a higher star average.

...

Well anyway, let me know what you think.

I fecking love this song!

/gets

EDIT: I enjoyed it. This song is pretty tricky thing to sync well and I think you did a nice job just doing that. But, I couldn't help being bothered by how many beats were left unsynced. Sometimes you went for "oversync", which was cool as hell, but equally there were clips that dragged on.. Nice twitchy sync though. Very appropriate for this song

The quality was good, at least on my end, and surprisingly enough I could see what was happening in the video. I don't know much to say about your clip selection yet because I haven't seen it that many times, but it looked like you stuffed some random creepy stuff in there with some hints of a story here and there. Ghosts are eye-candy for my liking so I pretty much enjoyed the clips as well. I need to watch this some more to grasp your concept better though.

3½/5 or maybe higher  Awesome song and awesome atmosphere you had on this video~

Many thanks to you all for taking the time to watch it :D

My main focus was to give off the emotion of fear/horror and (more towards the end) some sadness, but I didn't want it to come off as completely random. So, I tried to work in some of the story to give it a bit more depth.

I had some trouble towards the end when I started to run out of footage, and there was some video that I couldn't rip off the disc that I wanted to use, so I had to resort to a capture card.

Nice footage choice. The song is cool, and it was perfectly synced with the video. Had little quality problems, but that doesn't ruin the great feeling, it kinda makes it more creepy, dunno o_O . Me likey.

Wow....every fatal frame video i´m getting looks like quality work...

great video you made there....

About the quality i agree with Funky-kun....but it´s video game footage after all...

and i got a queasy feeling at the "protect me, protect me, protect me, protect me, ....."-part

awsome atmosphere....

(maybe i should finnaly play fatal frame, it´s just lying there in my room and no one ever touches it..., I´m scared of even thinking about the blinded one...aahhh ) :uhoh:

Alrighty. After some delay, I'm back to comment, as promised.

This is just as good as I remember it, editing-wise, so I really can't complain about how you put the video together. I loved it the first time, and this definitely keeps up with that.

My main problem is that the video quality is cleaner (in most sections - the captured stuff is problematic, I know), but then you messed it up in a different way. All three games rip at the same AR and resolution (I know, because I JUST ripped them a few weeks ago), and this should be 4:3 640x480 with no black borders of any kind.

I guess that's the thing that somewhat killed it for me. You did a very nice remake, but the one thing I was hoping would be corrected was not, unfortunately.

So... great video overall with just a little something to be improved with future videos.

There is a reason for that. I had to export it at 720x480 (if I remember correctly) because I was submitting it to a contest at a convention and that was the resolution they wanted. Unfortunately, the only way I could get it to them was through the .org, which is also why I didn't have any bumps on this video.
