Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Well, u are not obligated to watch anymoar Naruto vids, but no one's obligated not to use it as well, despite turning into a crappy video or not. I guess this is the point here. Just keep in mind not everyone hate Naruto videos because of this.

There is no problem with it! But since anime is meant for watching, not editing, it's just kindda sad.

And i like that! It's my choice!
I dont know if u understood it, but that was a comment meant for the guy who made this thread. That reply would be fine if meant for this part of my comment tho:

"Some want to be recognized, some do it 'cause they aren't good at anything else, some do it for fun. I think the a-m-v.org welcomes everyone who edits amvs, not just the ones who take it seriously, right?"

so yeah, it's pretty much your choice and no one is condemning you. Just don't condemn people with other choices, since we are supposed to welcome everyone here, not just the ones trying to be elite :|

If u like Naruto, use naruto. U're editing for your own pleasure, not "ours". Editing is supposed to be funny and a act of self-expression, so yeah, for the sake of god don't be like that ppl who even get to only download anime for the sake of editing.

While I agree with Seph on using what you want and not being pressured into using something else or that you can do it in forms of self-expression and/or for fun, I really I think it comes down to choice. If someone wants to edit because of their own reason such as trying to impress the audience etc, then it's their choice. I don't completely agree on hating a particular source either just because it generally produces a horrible amount of AMVs, I just dislike the particular AMV in question.

I do agree though that if people want to use an anime purely as an editing source, then so be it. It's their choice lol.

Actually, no. We're a pretty elitist, arrogant, judgmental lot. Even those of us who are generally helpful and generally nice have our moments where we feel compelled to rip into the occasional newbie.

AMVs are Serious Business. |:
Well yeah I can agree with Seph to some extent but it's mostly known that a-m-v.org is generally stricter than other AMV sites and can get a bit serious sometimes.

All in all people's choices are their own so I don't think there should really be anything to argue about here.

That's a contradiction in terms.

Guys, chill out. I know it's an interesting discussion, but we've long gone past being relevant to the video here :amv:

Video? Well, yeah - you don't need the subtitles, unless you're really synching to the lyrics of the song. Also, one comment I have - why so much footage from intro sequences? I know it's pretty, but geez :amv:
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

do you know the meaning of a contradiction?

There is no problem with it since no one will kill u or throw u into a jail from doing it, but it's still sad ^^'

1) No one said YOU are a bad editor. It has been said that this video is bad, and with that statement it's the video being judged, not you. ;)
2) If there are worse videos than this, it still doesn't deny that this video is bad. At least I can't say I personally enjoyed it. It lacked in quite a few areas, from the mere technical aspects such as aspect ratio, to the more "artistic" aspects such as concept. From what I was able to read, it didn't seem that the feedback was just random bashing, and I've seen quite some suggestions, so now it's up to you to decide whether to just go on like this and ignore the feedback, or to try to follow the suggestions and see what happens, be it for better or worse.

Everyone learns.

Even I do.

Though I am pretty much perfect.

In every way.

Yeah.
