  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Just for clarification's sake, 50% higher bitrate does not necessarily equal 50% higher quality, especially at such high bitrates. A large amount of footage captured at 12 Mbps will probably be pretty much maxed out in terms of visual quality.

And by the way, "Mbps/sec" = "megabits per second per second". :P

Thanks for clearing that up. In any case, I simply set my capture board for the highest setting to make sure I got the best result possible.

Ok, since you watched mine -- I decided to watch yours. I like the song a lot actually. I'll be honest, I enjoyed the feel of this amv, but some of the effects seemed unecessary. At first it seemed to drag but towards the end it kinda picked up. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future though.

3/5 Keep at it!!

Hey Blaku,

Thanks for returning the favor. =)

Yeah I wanted the video to look confused and distorted like an acid movie so I purposely added some unecessary effects. Still, I was trying not to overdo it but perhaps I did in a few spots. Oh well...

And I'll admit it's a bit of a slow start. I tried to come up with a more engaging opening but ran into a creative block and ultimately decided to leave the beginning as it was. Also, the song simply starts off kind of slow.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your comments and your star rating. I'll take them to heart.

Hmm... I think a breakdown would be best for this.

- on the technical side of things, the video quality could have been better. But you've already been told that, so I won't go into any more detail.

- I actually didn't really care for many of the effects, but considering the intended purpose of the video, I can see why

- on the other hand, I did like the general sense of pacing and flow, as well as the beat sync. Great job on that.

- it's the openings to the games. Again. Again. With the videos I've seen lately using glorious ingame footage, it's kind of disappointing to see one that goes right back to "nothing but the cutscenes."

Don't get me wrong. Even though my comments seem largely negative, I honestly enjoyed this video a lot. It's definitely one of the better KH videos I've seen so far. It just didn't entirely click with me.

Still, good job on this one. ^_^

Thanks for the feedback DJ! Yeah I knew this video wouldn't completely "click" with everyone. I wasn't shooting for popularity. If I were doing that, I would make a rap video with Naruto. Most people seem to be giving this one a 3/5 and I think that's fair enough.

And actually, I myself would never use most of these effects in a "normal" AMV. I used them mostly because of the intended purpose like you said.

Also, I always felt that putting cutscenes from the game in with actual game footage made the video look a bit awkward because obviously the FMV stuff looks a lot better and it makes the in-game stuff look crappy. That's just my opinion though.

As far as the quality goes, well, my next vid hopefully will be made with DVD-ripped footage and hopefully that won't be as much of a problem.

Thanks again!
