Hmm... I promised I'd watch, and I did. So here goes...
On a technical level, this really needs a lot of work. I'm not sure which (if any) of the guides you read on this site, so just to be thorough, I'm gonna link everything relevant to a VGMV.
Various PS and PS2 ripping guides. If you can't find a particular part that a guide mentions, I've found that it's pretty easy to just Google what you need. The one that's listed as the FFX-2 ripping guide is actually a generic guide that works for most PS2 games that do NOT use the ingame engine in their cutscenes.
The links in
this thread cover everything you need to know about ripping DVDs, cleaning up your footage (though be careful how you clean videogames... it takes a slightly different touch than with anime), fixing those aspect ratios and the resolution, exporting, and compressing your video (although doing h.264/.mp4 is a major step in a good direction, so bravo on that).
If you're looking for other guides regarding other various technical and/or creative stuff, check the
How To section or
Search the forums. You'll find lots of useful stuff for VGMVs. I know I did. ;p
Now, I know I'm spending a lot of time on the technical stuff, but that's because I really enjoyed this video, and I think it could be a lot better with that stuff fixed up. About the editing... you definitely had good beat sync, and I appreciate the dynamic differences in your clips. You matched the intensity (or lack thereof) of the song at all the right parts, and that was neat. The only thing I didn't see was much of a story, but I feel like this video was more of a celebration of the series anyway than any attempt at a deep plot.
The point is that it's fun and it was good. If this is your first attempt, then I can't wait to see what you edit when you've gotten more practice (and technical knowledge) under your belt. As a fellow VG editor, this gets my seal of approval.
