Where to begin... This wasn't the hardest project I've done, but it's probably the best. It's also the first time I've used Photoshop to do an effect, even though it only lasted a single second. 3 hours of work, for a single effect. Eh.
I put the most thought into this video beforehand, probably. I actually had an idea of what I was going to do in most of it, though I hadn't planned well enough into the song, so I had to cut the last 2 minutes off, which killed me, because that's when it goes instrumental, and sounds REALLY good.
This project didn't start with this song originally, I was actually going to do a Bon-Jovi video. But I cut that short, because it just wasn't feeling right. Well, I had the footage encoded and ready to go, and I was just listening to the Black Album, and suddenly, The Unforgiven just hit me. I decided to put the two together. I listened to it for a while, and got a good feel of what I would want and need to do, then I started work.
The first minute or so was complicated, and I put a lot of precise editing into it, giving cuts were they needed to be, synching to the mood and the music (mainly because the lyrics hadn't kicked in). Once the lyrics kicked in, I started doing some lyric synching while retaining the action synch. It worked out well, but, in afterthought, the lyric synch doesn't make much sense if you haven't seen the OVA. Luckily, most have. I'm just going to warn you that, if you haven't seen this OVA, you may not get some of the lyrical synch in the video.
I played around with speeds, as well as brightness and contrast. As I went into post-processing, I tried messing with the saturation, which did make the picture look like it did on my TV when I watched the DVDs, but it defined out some annoying video flaws, and I couldn't let that happen. So, I got rid of the saturation in the final encode.
I had several beta Testers:
Dranged Kreations
HaruharaHamachi
Chibi Okashii
MomochiZabuza
The Maan
Thanks to all of you for your input (and patience with my crappy connection). One person was left off, but will be added later. I'm not entirely sure of his account name here.
This will be my last video before I begin releasing with an AMV studio. I really hope you all enjoy watching it, because I think I've done a good job with it.
And please, leave an oppinion.
