  • Day 1 of '....?' 2006-03-05 12:13:08 So yeah I'm not really sure what to call it yet, though all my project file say 'Duos', which is rather simple, but gets to the point. Anyways, footage for the most part is set to take clips from, the only thing is that I haven't even ripped Noir onto my computer yet. I will soon though, probably starting today since I'm going to be doing a lot of cleaning/homework, so I won't be able to edit much.

I did start editing yesterday, so that was cool. I was messing around with the track matte a lot, but I couldn't get it to produce the effect I wanted, so I went back and did it the way I know how to. I edited bits and piece of the intro, which is about 30 seconds long. It sets up and gets into the high energy that this song reflects throughout the entire thing, so I'm going to be trying to show that a lot with the clips I pick. I'm also trying to not let this slowly become a mindless action video. I don't think it will necessarily tell a complete story, but it will have themes and such, so that should be alright. If anything, it shows a progression of a theme in anime series, going from your old skool chicks with guns feel, to your modern type, to the futuristic outlook.

It's sort of weird, but I feel different than when I started 'Lost Ones'. Originally, I had planned to make a video for Acen, since that's a con I attend (even though things aren't looking up concerning that trip this year...), but the deadline is April 1st and it really doesn't seem like I have the time to bust out a video before then. It's discouraging. Also I seem to be a lot more critical of what I'm doing. For now, I just need to remember to let it flow, and that it needs to be something I like and enjoy, and be proud of. That's the mentality I'm trying to get going into this project.

    So here we go :D
  • Project Trinity 2006-02-26 22:11:09 So I'm getting involved with Sierra Lorna and silver_moon's new MEP, Project Trinity. I get to use Anberlin again, so that's what initially drew me to it, as well as the due dates, which are easier for me to work with. Hopefully it'll be a good learning experience too. Here are my segment details:

    Song: 'Cadence' by Anberlin
    Anime: Chance Pop Session
    Length: :45- 1:00
    Category: Serious/Drama

Chance Pop Session has hardly been used on this site. I'm anxious to work with the footage, since the idea I have should be a bit of a challenge to pull off. I'm only focusing on the short lived relationship of one of the characters and footage is sorta limited, but I checked it today and I believe I'll have enough to work with. So yeah, this should be fun, but I'm not planning to do anything with it for a little while, because of this other project I've got going. More on that later.
  • Katsu 2006-02-20 12:58:10 So I accomplished my goal and got into the Katsucon AMV contest, so that was cool. Overall, I felt that the contest was dissappointing, but I had a great time at the con neverless. I noticed that it has become easier for me to sit through hours worth of AMVs. I remember getting bored at some of them when I was younger and always anxiously waiting for the song to end. Also, I noticed that I've become a lot more critical of other videos, which in my opinion is a double-edged sword. More good than bad though I think.

But yeah, the con for me was like a dream, but this was more because I was with Melv than the con itself. The layout of this year's Katsucon was a lot better than last years in my opinion, it didn't seem as cramped. I'll be putting a lot more about the weekend up on my xanga, so yeah, if anyone's interested, go ahead and check that out.

Time to get back to life...
