Learnings and Such
2006-12-08 18:13:59
Well over the last week or so I've learned quite a bit concerning the technical side of editing with the help of AtomX and his lessons. He's actually quite a good teacher. Now I know the stuff for my next project will be in the right PAR, and I'm actually going to try some different things with the editing itself. I'm going to give this bait-and-switch method a shot, because it's something different and well I'm new and have nothing to lose. I love trying new things, so hopefully it turns out alright.
I updated myself on the source I'm going to be using by watching a movie version of the series (no, it's not Evangelion :p), so that was a bit of a help, though there wasn't a plethora of scenes I'm going to be pulling from the movie itself for the video. So yeah, new video starting here soon. Everything is ready to go, I've just been planning/reacquainting myself with the anime since it has been about a year since I've seen it all the way through. We'll see how things go.

Stuff and Thoughts and Thoughts and Stuff
2006-12-03 01:33:08
I started ripping footage for my next project already. I want to see if I can edit quickly and get this video done by Christmas, err well maybe the end of the year. Nio said he'd keep me to it, and I don't want to incur the wrath of an angry Dutchman :o
They were talking about the VCAs in IRC last night, and I thought it was interesting hearing what other people think are the stand-out videos this year and so forth. I didn't put in my input too much, aside from thinking that Zest's instrumental Fate/Stay Night video will more than likely be a strong candidate for Best Instrumental. I guess it got me to thinking of some of the videos I've really enjoyed this year and about some stand-out editors and so forth. It's interesting stuff, but I guess that's what happens when people make a big deal out of it, but it seems that in the AMV world, it really is.

MS Days 18 & 19
2006-11-28 22:34:07
Last couple days have been filled with more photoshop than premiere. I made up the graphic, banner, opening and ending credits, yeaaaah all that junk. I've gotten some good feeback thus far, and have made some changes and tried a couple different things. At this point, it's pretty much set for release. I'm just waiting on a little bit more feedback, so then I can make any neccessary changes and whatnot. Just waiting for now...yep...
mmmmm Teal Nom with Rop mmmm.
I think I'm going to finally get around to writing some of these opinions for people. I've been meaning to do that for a while.

MS Day 17
2006-11-27 02:41:08
So the video is "done". Still have to make some final touches and have to wait until I get some feedback on the beta. The first two exports I had from Premiere were glitchy, but at least it gave me the chance to see the thing as a whole, so then I could go and make more of my own little changes. That way hopefully I get some feedback on things I overlooked rather than obvious things I already know. The only thing I left in the beta that is really obvious is some lip flap, and since that's one of my biggest pet peeves in videos, it will definitely be out of there before release. Need to do all the little extra things for the release version as well, but that won't take so long. So yeah, besides the 7 hours of work, today was good.
I just finished watching Prodigi's new video 'Chimera'. Definitely a good note to end the night on, I suggest checking it out:
