If you want an AMV with as much emotion as videos like "Waking Hour", "Asuka's Wonderland", or "Metropolis - Center of the Sun" (and if you haven't seen all of of those, stop reading this journal right now and download them IMMEDIATELY) then I would highly recommend you check out Marc Hairston's "Nemo". You'll have to head over to Minion's vault ("The Vault is now open" thread in the General AMV forum should point you in the right direction) to download it, but it's worth it. The video quality may suck, it might have a weird aspect ratio, but darn it, it pulls at your heartstrings like few other AMVs can. And the song's REALLY darn catchy - "Captain Nemo" by Sarah Brightman - so that may be considered an added bonus, at least if you like the song.
That said, I'm going to get to the post-processing portion of my AMV, and I'll post a new journal as soon as it's been uploaded. Have a nice day!

I've gotten so unorganized since I got to college. Seriously, before this school year started I had everything where I wanted it. Like, I had a folder for each class, I knew where everything in my room was, I kept all my books in a row where I could easily find them...and now my dorm room is a mess. Well, not really a mess; there are people whose are worse, but it's still at the point where nothing is in a logical place. I tend to just throw everything in a pile and tell myself to "worry about it later".
Speaking of my dorm room, it's the most boring place in this entire college, and the most uncomfortable. My roommate and I have no furniture besides what came with the room and a lawn chair (curtosey of me). It's all so typical, and I hate walking into my room because it's so damn boring. Our TV gets crappy reception and watching TV is a painful experience because there's nowhere comfortable to sit, except on my computer chair which is at such an angle to the TV that I have to move away from my computer (the single most important object in the entire room, except when I'm in it. Oh, and my roommate too) to see it. Ugh. I hate my dorm room. But I like my computer. I'm such a recluse.
Where was I?
Oh yes. Disorganization. This parallels the fact that I've become extremely lazy since I got to college. That's not to say I wasn't lazy before, but now I've reached a new low. All this is due to...you guessed it, AMVs. Am I complaining? No, not really, but it's really kind of taken over my life. I mean, I should be revising a paper due tomorrow right now, but instead I'm sitting here writing a journal...for an AMV site. It's not a good sign. I could hang out with my friends during the day, or actually make some new friends because the few friends I have here stay in all day just like me, but instead I edit, or download AMVs, or just surf the org. It's unhealthy.
My God, I have no life. I've become what I've always hated. :O
It's a depressing thought.
So to lighten the mood, I'm proud to let all of you who care know that my second RahXephon video has been completed! It looks pretty good, in my opinion (though it's probably nothing really special) and it should be up by tomorrow, if I so choose to upload it earlier than i had planned. Kikai, prepare yourself!
Now...back to schoolwork. And then to sleep. I'm not tired, but I don't doubt I will be by the time I finish this paper. Later, all.

Echoing Green

I'm seriously thinking about trying to get a video in for that Echoing Green AMV contest. I'll REALLY have to crack down if I want to, though...I have to rewatch Paranoia Agent, import clips and edit all within about a month to get it done...but I REALLY like the song and I have a good idea for it. I don't want to have to put off finishing my RahXephon trilogy (I have a great idea for that one, too) but I wanna enter this contest really badly now.
On that note, my second RahXephon video is all but finished. It'll probably be up tomorrow, and I'm really pleased with it. I just have to add a few more scenes and do some fine-tuning with a couple clips. Then there's the dreaded post-processing/encoding process. I hate doing this because it takes a long time to get an AVI file, and if the encode messes up somehow then you have to figure out why and redo everything. It takes a long time, and is my least favorite part of making an AMV (I hate it more than even importing clips...yech).
Anyway, I should finish up my current project so I can start a new one ASAP, by which I mean Monday. And by start I really mean restart Paranoia Agent. Ugh. There's a long road ahead of me...punctuated by missed homework and bad grades...yippee.
