My Weekend: Productivity

This weekend was incredibly productive. First of all, I started and finished this short, 170-something page book that I had to read for my psych class. It was actually quite interesting; about this psychiatrist who survived through four Nazi death camps. And then I finished reading Contact by Carl Sagan, which I've been reading since like May.
Well, that's a lie, considering I read barely at all over the summer and it's impossible to tear me away from my computer here at school. But still, I've been wanting to finish it so I can watch the movie, and I finally did. Turned out to be one of the best books I've ever read; makes me want to become an astronomer even more (I'm changing my major to physics so I hopefully can be). Yeah...I wanna read some more sci-fi, but I think I'll hold off on that 'til winter break in three weeks.
In addition, I just finished Love Hina Again, and am now completely DONE with that series. I've been putting it off, stretching it out, what have you. Now I can move on to other anime. I'm thinking I'll watch Voices of a Distant Star this week, and maybe get started on Serial Experiments: Lain as well. I need to watch more anime, though, that's for sure.
I also got done with two of aerialesque's opinions over the weekend that I'm doing just because I think her videos kick ass. Maybe I'll get another one done tonight, although if you're reading this, aerialesque, don't hold your breath :/ Now that I'm back to my dorm, I'm thinking it would be more prudent of me to finish up with the ops I have pending so I can start an op exchange with my new video in the next day or two.
My roommate's not coming back 'til Tuesday...not that it really matters, since he's so involved with music at school and classes that he doesn't usually spend much time in here anyway. I'm kind of anxious for him to get back, though; at least, I'm anxious for it to be Thursday so I can give him his present. I think he'll like it.
Hm hm hmmm...there's other stuff I want to get off my mind, but I think I'll save it for another journal. This one's too all over the place. Peace out fellas. And chicas.

I hope aerialesque got my PM in time...
So I went shopping today so I could pick up Knights of the Old Republic 2 for my roomie...got it for $20, just what I was expecting. And then I went to Electronics Boutique just to see if they had any anime, and what do you know? Grave of the Fireflies for $10.00. Couldn't pass it up, even though it's on my Christmas list. I doubt I'll get it anyway :/
Ok, dinnertime. I had more to say, but this'll do for now. On a side note, I wonder where Dj_ultima's been? I miss reading her journals. It's been almost two weeks >_< Hurry up and get back here, you.

You know, I was going to write a journal about this anyway, so I guess it fits that you guys asked me to join in your Skype party today.
I can't because:
A) I don't have a headset with a microphone
B) I'm at home right now, and my computer is downstairs in our family room and it'd probably get on the rest of my family's nerves if they heard me talking to a bunch of people I've never met while they're trying to watch TV
C) If I Skyped people when I got back to my dorm my roommate would look at me funny, because I'd probably talk a lot to you people who I don't know very well and have never met in person in contrast to my phone conversations with my girlfriend, in which I barely say anything because I generally hate talking an the phone :/
and D) My college friends would mock me relentlessly
Actually, the last two parts are rather trivial. But I don't have a mic, so that's a problem...maybe I'll buy one this weekend before I go back, maybe I'll wait until after Christmas. I dunno. But I DO want to join, I just don't have the means right now...

So we put up Christmas decorations today. You know, it's funny because when I look back on it this day was one of the highlights of my year. Back when I was like 10, I used to absolutely ADORE putting up Christmas decorations. Now it's just a really boring chore that I'm glad to get over with. But, at least it's done now, and soon we're going to go to Portillo's (a hot dog-centered restaurant, for those of you not from Chicago) for my dad's birthday, which is today. Woot!
Oh man, and I know exactly what I'm going to get for my roommate, whose birthday is on Thursday. He's been playing Knights of the Old Republic on his computer like, 24/7, so I think I'll get him KOTOR 2, since it's only like $20. Besides, he deseves it for being such a kickass roommate.
So, I think that's all. Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving yesterday!
