Reflections

Well, as it's basically the end of my school year (tomorrow is technically, but with finals, moving out and ACen I'm not even going to have time to breathe), I figure it would be appropriate to reflect on my year and see how I've changed, and reminisce a little. This should be interesting...
I actually found the .org within my first week here at college. Completely at rondom, too. I remember AMVs just popped into my head out of absolutely nowhere, and I quickly found this site and made an account and began downloading videos. And I quickly found the forums as well, and did most of my posting in the Help forums (as I completely absorbed the guides so I was willing to try my hand at helping newbs like myself and directing them to the guides).
Somewhere in there I made Three Sides To Every Story, and the after that Amnesia In Comfort. And then...I received my first opinion, from none other than Kiki. Which was awesome, because without that op I may never have become friends with Kiki and gotten to make fun of her so much.
School-wise I became a total recluse. I've made about five close friends here at school since I started coming (in real life, anyway), and one of them is transferring to a different school next semester. But I'm pretty content with things that way, at least for now. It's all thanks to the .org, and I've made so many friends here on the .org that it's okay that I'm socially challenged in real life.
Anyway, moving on. Right before winter break I made Figured Out...now that was a lot of fun, even if the video sucks donkey balls. I put it together in about eight hours one late Thursday night/Friday afternoon...and the great thing about it was that it snowed like a bitch that Thursday night, so my only Friday class got cancelled and I got the day off. Which rocked...that was actually one of my fonder memories from the year. That was a very fun day.
Then over winter break my mom had to have heart surgery. It all went fine of course, but it was still pretty stressful and a crappy way to end my break.
Second semester rocked in terms of the .org, because I discovered the #AMV channel in IRC. Oh man, even if I'm just lurking, the stuff in there makes me laugh and I've made some friends in there as well.
And then I put together my ACen video...WAIT. DID I HEAR ACEN? OH YEAH, I'M GOING TO ACEN. Gonna meet a bunch of editors I really look up to, if only because they make me laugh (although most of them make kickass videos as well). So that should be flipping awesome, and I'm excited to finally do that. It's going to be the culmination of what I've been doing on the .org up to this point. I hope it's as good as they're all saying it will be.
So...yeah. I've gone through a lot this year. In my real life, I have a lot of things that I still don't know about, such as my relationship with my girlfriend. Who knows where that's going to end up. And of course academically, by choosing to make physics my major, I have very possibly screwed myself because it's something I may very well not be any good at (no matter how much I love it). But...I won't worry about that stuff, because now it's summer, and I'm going to have a lot of free time outside of work. I also hope to release at least two videos over the course of the summer, so if that's all you care about, there ya go.
I can only hope next year will be as cool as this one was ;) Thanks everyone1
