  • 1st week of Grad school takes away from the real work 2003-09-06 00:03:57 I started my 2nd year of grad school this week, so I never touched "Black Girlfriend" till tonight. I drank a few beers and watched what I had done so far. I did a little work on the "Driving thru the hood" lines. I'm trying to keep a certain pace and edge thru those scenes.

    I looked over some of the earlier work and most of its good, but I haven't even begun to tweak the video, most scenes seem a frame or two early. I'm hoping to start the tweaking once I've filled in some more blank scenes. 
  • holes, holes, and more holes 2003-08-30 13:42:08 I've filled in a bunch of holes in the AMV. Most of the fill ins have been rough, they need to be matched to the music. I was more trying to fill in the large black sections, so I could keep the flow and theme of the AMV. The last 1/4 of the song is coming together, I'm working to end with the fishing and a dreamy feel to it. I've got lip syncing to do and maybe a few more pretty scenes of Marine.

    Once I've got the rough draft done for the video, I'll got thru it with a fine tweak combing and make it presentable. Well other work call,s later. 
  • Filling in the wholes 2003-08-29 20:36:02 I've been looking thru the material I've digitized, picking out video clips for the remaining blank scenes. I'm working on the tail end of the song, when it quites back down. I'm working on the idea of Marines ulitmate power, and cut back to Otaru fishing in a dream state.

    I've also been filling in wholes towards the middle of the song, working on the "girls laughed at me" trying out a few scenes and seeing what works. I'm looking thru Saber Marionette J for scenes of Okaru.

    On the audio side I still have to check how much tweaking is need for the 1st 1:30. It looks close but things might be a frame off. 
  • tweaking the music 2003-08-28 16:19:01 So since Otakon I learned that any contest worthy AMV need to use WAV source files for the audio. I had started the "Black Girlfriend" AMV using a MP3 version, but when I ripped the WAV from my Porno for Pryos CD, the WAV file was 1/2 a frame behind the MP3, so I spent yesterday trimming that 1/2 frame off the WAV file.

    The reason was the first 1:30 mins had already been synced to the MP3, and all the lip syncing I had done was just a hair off. By trimming the 1/2 frame I was trying to matchup the material I've already done.

    The "Black Girlfriend" AMV is about 70% filled in, I still have a few black spots to fill in with scenes. I have an idea for some of the holes and need to digitize a few scenes from the other Saber Marionette series. 
  • still on the guitar solo 2003-08-21 17:59:21 I've lined up a lot of the scenes; and now I'm working to get the scenes to transition well between the fight scenes. It's probably going to be a few more days till I get that fight sequence straighten out right.

    I've had a few other idea for AMV's, but I have to get this idea out of my head first.
