  • new vid - 'Too Much Anime' 2003-10-02 03:30:59 Well, unless I'm disconnected in the next 30 minutes, my new vid should be up:
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=24503

This was a very fun vid to make, mostly because I filled nearly my entire harddrive with clips and had a lot of trouble deciding which ones I wanted to use for the vid. I ended up leaving out way too many anime titles - the song was just too short. It's my biggest multi-anime/game vid and is meant to be the one that uses more titles than any other I make (to stand in my collection as my biggest mix). Altogether there are 105 anime/games used here, though some I only wanted for character shots and some of the effect scenes. Here's the list of anime in order of appearance (mostly) for those who don't recognize 65% of the ones used:

Blue Seed, Bubblegum Crisis, FF Tactics, FF9, Knights of Ramune, Orphen, Project A-ko, Angel Sanctuary, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Shinesman, Those Who Hunt Elves, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Rurouni Kenshin, Virtual Fighter, Sorcerer Hunters, Sakura Wars, Samurai X, Maze, Magic Users Club, Lost Universe, Legend of Dragoon, Samurai: Hunt for the sword, Haunted Junction, Berserk, Inuyasha, FF8, Escaflowne (series & movie), Zenki, Wild Arms, Tenchi Universe, Steam Detectives, Spectral Force, Saber Marionette J, Pilot Candidate, Legend of Crystania, Kurogane Communication, Jubei-chan, Agent Aika, Arc the Lad, Angel Links, AD Police, Battle Angel, Chrono Cross, Card Captor Sakura (season 1), Full Metal Panic, Jungle de Ikou, DBZ (and DBGT), Darkside Blues, Cowboy Bebop, FF7, Gundam 0083, Gundam Wing, Dai Guard, Fake, Elf Princess Rane, Gokudo, Jin-roh, Kite, Laberynth of Flames, Marriage, Mirage of Blaze, Magic Knight Rayearth (season 1), Mobile Suit Gundam, Babel II, Big O, Night Walker, Monster Ranchers, Ninja Cadets, Earthian, Chrono Trigger, Cosmo Warrior Zero, Ys Castle in the Sky, Weiss Kruez, Sailor Victory, Ruin Explorers, Prince of Tennis, Ping Pong Club, Evangelion, Saiyuki, Vampir Hunter D (original & Bloodlust), Ninja Resurrection, Noir, Martian Successor Nadesico, Crest of the Stars, Yu Yu Hakusho (tournament special), Yami no Matsuei, Gasaraki, Ninku, Outlaw Star, Shamanic Princess, RG Veda, Ronin Warriors, Sakura Diariesk, Slayers (the movie), Tekken, You're Under Arrest, Twin Signal, The Puppet Princess, Soul Hunters, Digimon (the game), Sin, The Twelve Kingdoms, Tokyo Babylon, Princess Rouge, Pre-Tear.

    And I think I left a few out in the vid description, so I'll have to check it again. ^_^;;;

Lots of footage, took forever to get, and gave a wide variety of bishonen that I just may use again. ^_^
  • Direct download 2003-09-19 01:59:59 Heh, I've added my first (and probably only) direct download link. ^_^ It's for my 'Without You' dbz vid. It's been hosted on Dragon Ball Arena for about a month now, but I didn't really think about it. Then, I realized, I can use that. ^_^;; Yeah, I went ahead and added the link. Rather neat that I can do that.
  • ...........bah... 2003-09-16 00:11:39 Prince of Tennis. And a YYH song. Odd...

And it looks like I'll be stuck babysitting my sister for the next two days...fun-fun. She's what...17 now? Mom's going out of town, so I'm stuck with guard duty, and I have to drive the lazy butt to school - she killed her car. It wouldn't be too bad, but she whines when I watch anime, can't sit still without trying to boot me off the internet so she can use the telephone (hell no), and then she cries because my Caddy isn't 'classy' enough for her to be seen in. If she wants to walk home from school, she can do it. She's lucky I bother to go so far out of my way to pick her butt up. And my caddy looks a lot better than some of those scrap cars her friends drive. It's just an 'old' car, and it ruins her image. Whatever.

I'm looking forward to this. I'll be working on vids and doing reviews - and she'll be stuck with nothing to do because I'll be downloading and won't be able to disconnect long enough for her 4hr phone calls. Heh...it could be interesting.
  • Updates 2003-09-06 19:52:44 Strangely enough, I sat down and worked on three of my fics this morning (I've been waking up at 4am lately). The updates were posted and I realized I haven't updated my site in over 4 months. Horrible on my part. I hope to take some time off here to get that fixed, lots of sections to work on and new galleries to add (old ones to clean up as well). But in the meantime - new anime! Heh, I am floating so nicely.

Mirage of Blaze - haven't watched it, looks shonen ai - I'm in heaven. ^_^
Tokyo Babylon - haven't watched it, already know it can be made shonen ai.
    Saiyuki dvds 3 & 4 - I couldn't afford 2, but I have the first, should be great.
DBZ: Kid Buu, Saiyan Pride - Vegeta footage.
DBZ: Kid Buu, The Price of Victory - more Vegeta footage.
DBGT: Proliferation - not really new, but I haven't watched it yet, I expect nice Bebi Vegeta footage to be on here.

All together it looks like I *just* might have enough DBZ footage now to make a new vid or two. Really hard to get a variety for stories, but fresh scenes should help a lot. And I've been dying to get the Vegeta versus Kid Buu fights. I'm missing one dvd, but I don't think it will hurt much since I don't need that many clips to fit into the stories I'm working with. The Saiyuki footage is just great, should have some good shots of Gojyo's past and Hakkai's as well (my favorite characters). The other two are pretty self-explanatory. I've been dying to see Tokyo Babylon, and the other one just looks pretty and features two guys as the main characters - can't ask for more than that.

Ah...nice mess of anime to watch while I work on my site. This almost makes my having gotten the complete Sakura set look small - not as many dvds (hardly!), but a great variety.

    Happy 'Mina. ^_^
  • Breakthrough - crossovers 2003-09-01 04:55:07 I hate to say it, but I finally found out how to do crossover vids using wmm2 and PhotoImpression4. With patience, frame-by-frame editing, and a nice 'clean-up' in Showbiz, I can no do most of what I've seen in the crossover vids I like so much - namely splice scenes together to move characters into different anime settings. And that means some of those ideas I've had on the backburner as 'impossible to do without Premiere' are now scratching at the back of my neck wanting attention. Gagh...this sucks.

I should have known the moment the guides for doing crossovers mentioned 'photoshop pro' that I could do the same in my arcsoft photo program. The fact that I'm not using premiere doesn't make one bit of difference either - from what I've heard, the major frame editing is done in the photo program itself - only the animation requires a good movie maker. And hell, if I'm working with jpgs and not avi, I *can* use Showbiz.

Of course, I'd need wmm for the timeline since it has the nice effects and timing layout, but only for the avi clips. Anything requiring jpgs I have to use Showbiz for anyway (don't ask me why, wmm hates the fact that I've gotten around the biggest drawbacks, so it's decided to throw some new ones my way). So...I can get the caps using Showbiz, but I think I'll use wmm for that since Showbiz minimizes them to 320x240, and I need a minimum of 640x480 if it's going to hold its quality once it's set to fullscreen. I can control frame-by-frame animation better in wmm, but I think the transitions in Showbiz could work better here. It really would depend on what I'm trying to do.

The problem, of course, is that now I don't have time to do a complicated frame-by-frame edited amv. I'm coming down to the line, and that last vid really killed me. I don't have the heart to keep a project running that long again any time soon. I could always hold it and see if I can do one of those year-long projects the pro's talk about. But damn...I'd hate myself, the vid, the idea, the song, and probably the anime itself by the time the thing was finished. I can't stick with a fic for more than a few weeks. Still, if I start it and burn it to cd, it'll be there if I ever get in an accident that puts me back in my apartment for a good month or two. ^_^ What a thing to hope for.

This is really cool, though, I mean *really* cool. I need to read that guide again - I had no idea it could be done using wmm. Why is it that all the neat things they tell you about using Premiere I have to figure out alone before I can reproduce using wmm? It's not like using wmm is so different when you get down to it, but the tricks are hard to figure out on your own - and so simple in retrospect. If I didn't know I'd get mutilated for being an idiot, I'd make a wmm guide myself. I can guarantee I know more tricks than half the premiere pro's do when it comes to using this 'newbie' vid maker. But now I'm being dumb again. I don't *want* newbies to be able to do what I do with wmm - not that many would take the time to do it when they can just switch to premiere and be like everybody else. Still, a guide would be nice, especially if microsoft wrote it. ^_^;; I have too many questions I'd like to ask those people.
