  • spring cleaning ^"^ 2004-01-15 14:31:08 Got rid of a number of old vids. Most of them I'll still share via aim if people ask, but they're no great loss. It makes my profile look funny, though - I think I like it. ;p 
  • bipolar (and so it continues...) 2004-01-15 07:43:29 Yesterday there was a flash of guilt, but today she's all righteous saying I and everyone else stole our vids from other people. Too bad for her she doesn't realize that when I made my Kurama/Hiei vids, they were the *only* ones in existence. The same for Xenia - hers was the only video using that footage. I think she needs to steal dbz vids if she wants to say "well, you take from each other anyway". Or better yet - here - I'll just copy and paste. Seems she doesn't think reproducing someone's entire vid is plagiarism. And even worse, she plans to keep doing it:

However, I will not give up doing videos. I have spoken to the officials here and I feel that there is no video in here that doesn't use the same clips. Yes, I will take off the videos complained about. But I will NOT stop making them. I'm sorry if you were offended, but I had no intention of copying EVERYTHING in YOUR video. Instead, I made my own from various clips. I will be more careful, but I will not be driven away. And for you Arigatomyna, I DID NOT completely copy you! I'm sorry I didn't say that clips came from you or others, but EVERYONE here uses clips over and over no matter who made them. Their availiable everywhere, so don't be so quick to call it plagurism.

    Yep, we have ourselves one very angry theif, who thinks *everyone* else streals from each other, so why shouldn't she. I steal from no one. My GW vids were usually the first ones to use that footage - first ever - I didn't take the footage *or* the ideas. My question - who is she talking to? Who told her it was okay to steal videos? Yesterday she knew it was wrong. Today she thinks she's a victim for being called a theif. Why made her change her mind?

    I guess I'll just have to go on with cheching the vids to determine who she stole each vid from. I noticed she didn't take off Loveable Neko Kyou's vids - maybe she's going to steal more from her before she moves on to someone else. A righteous thief is a scary thing. Not. 
  • updated list 2004-01-14 12:24:20 Heh, I'm getting behind since she's putting them out daily - anyone with a Utena vid should check her newest one, and I don't know of any Chobits vids, so I have no idea who she took that one from. But I *have* identified 7 of the vids she plaigerised so far.

    Some of the footage looks *very* familiar - especially the transitions in the beginning, and again, it uses clips from my 'If You Still' vid.

    I'm just waiting to see which of my amvs she chooses to rip next. I expect 'Sufferance' to pop up eventually at the rate she's going. >.<

    But anyone making YYH vids should be on the lookout. I know she isn't just getting footage from me and spiritdetectives.com - her 'Hiei profile' vid has a lot of familiar cuts, maybe even coming from Xenia's 'Cry Little Sister' vid, though I'm not sure about that one. If you have a yyh vid, check hers out. Unless you don't want to know. 
  • stollen 2004-01-09 20:51:33 You know you're good when your fics are stollen, so I'd say the same works for vids. I just wish it weren't one of my first amvs ever, and my favorite of them.

    I wouldn't mind if she just took footage from my vids, but to reuse the clips in the exact order and duration, with the exact transitions is just outright reproduction. It's no wonder her vid doesn't have much lyric sync, the scenes are lined up to go with the lyrics in my vid.

    But what *really* gets me is that she complained about existing KxH vids - saying they weren't explicite enough and then leaving viewers to watch her vid. That's saying my vids aren't good enough and then *using* my vid and just claiming its hers. Now, if she'd redone my vid with high quality and good editing I would agree, but all she did was take a poorly edited (but sweet) video and ruin the lyric sync. Good going.

    I've had other vids where I *know* they took some footage from mine. My first 10 or so vids have a peculiar aspect ratio and I can always tell if someone reproduced those clips. But all they used was the scene of Kurama and Yusuke dragging Hiei - and I don't blame them for wanting that scene since it's from the special. Heck, I was half tempted to write the people and tell them to take it from my 'Too Much Anime' vid since the quality is much better. I would have said the same thing in this case. If she wanted footage, I don't mind her using my vids to nab clips. But keeping the clips in the same order is reusing my story and just chopping a few parts up so it's half the length. It's simple theft and shotty reproduction.
