YYH & ice demons

What is it with ice demons in YYH all having deep voices? You have the koorime females who are all tall with the exact same looks, and then you have the male ice demons - two out of three of which are very short, have effeminate features, and extremely deep masculine voices. o.O Such tiny waists to have those deep voices, but what kind of fangirl would I be if I complained about it. Touya's VA is as yummy as Hiei's. ;p
Yes, I'm done with my Touya-tribute vid and a little bit in love at the moment. Of course, it isn't *final* - it won't be for at least 16 more hours, but it's finished enough for me to watch it on repeat and melt from the footage/audio match. ^_^ I swear, now I'm wishing the song were a bit longer - I didn't get nearly as much of an angsty vid as I'd hoped. It just didn't work. Touya's voice is so cold. Get it? Yeah, bad pun. ~_~;;
Anyway, I'm a little giddy now. I decided I should take a break from watching it before I sleep for a few hours - I don't want to get too hooked on it before I do the finishing touches - otherwise I wouldn't want to change anything. ^_^;; But I like it - I like it more than my 'Nightmare' vid, and Kurama's my second favorite singer (Megumi Ogata, actually, but you know what I mean - VA). There's just something very cool and hot about the way Touya's VA goes from soft to sharp all at once, and I've such a fancy for guitar riffs. I love this song, love the characters, love the vid. I'm so easy to please. #^_^# -

So, I've done the remake of my YYH 'Nature's Child,' and my Inuyasha vid (the one and only - makes me feel *so* special ;p ) and now what?
First, a little annoyance. I can't help but wonder if I'd done my IY vid and had Kagome instead of Miroku, then people would love it. But it's not just wondering, I'm fairly sure they would. I hate making romance vids that I *know* are good, and having no one else watch them because of the genre. And then I get mad at myself for caring. It's just - I go out and watch the romance vids for pairings *I* don't like. If the vid is good, I can enjoy it despite the pairing - because it's a good romance vid with nice emotion. But it doesn't work that way with shonen ai. Stupid. Annoying. I don't know why I care.
But anyway!
Yes, I'm edting. ^_^ I don't know if I'll finish this one (when do I ever >.> ) but I'm working on a new YYH vid. Oh, I know - not *another* one. But shut up, you. This vid is for Touya. Yeah, do you even know who he is in YYH? Probably not considering there are *no* vids for him - not one. The only amvs that even show a glimpse of him are the ones for Kurama (random action mostly). This amv is set to Touya's theme song, and he has a very very sexy voice. But yeah...that's not the point. ^_^;;; Um, it's a cool song, nice action/angst mix, but I think I can sneak in some cute scenes as well.
But what about my genre? Well, since there are very few scenes of Touya in the anime (namely his fight with Kurama and his match in the final tournament), I'm going to include Jin in the vid. Ah - yes, there is the shonen ai. But only for those who *want* to see it. They simply are on the same team - they share the same dream of coming out of the shadows (all of the ninjas did - their group). And they hang out together till the end of the series - friends for sure. So this way I can have plenty of footage but still focus on Touya as narrator. Mostly it would be an action vid of him and some of Jin, but I hope to toss in a bit of their friendship with Yusuke and Kurama for flavoring. It matches the lyrics, after all.
Oh.
I guess I should mention who Touya is. o.O He's the fiesty ice demon that Kurama fights - the one with the odd blue and green hair. Those who've watched my YYH vids might have seen him crouching behind Kurama during the makai arc scenes - he's a 'good' guy in those episodes, and Kurama helped recruit him, Jin, and the others to support Yusuke. Let's just say he's a bit cocky at times, somewhat 'Hiei-like' in his "I don't care" nature, but very very sweet when he talks about wanting the sunlight, and quite honorable when it comes to his comrades. Plus he's cute. ;p I'm so dang shallow. ^_^;; - Sarah - 2004-02-01 21:53:46 You were one of the people I nominated for most improved. Glad to see you up there, and good luck. ^_^ It makes the contest more fun, and just think - whether you win or not your name will always be in the nominee list - out of everyone you were chosen and listed. Feed your ego for a while, then go edit some more - it's quite a rush. ^.~

End of Time (remake)

I finished my second remake - took a bit longer than I'd thought. It really is odd to make a vid for an anime I don't watch. I've sat through Inuyasha once - after that I only watched certain parts, a few rare episodes. I never even watched the movie (knowing what happened in it already). So making a vid using this footage was just...unusual. I have a vague remembrance of what the episodes were like, but it's been a long time since I watched them, and I took everything out of context anyway - I didn't bother to go back and find out what the context was. It's actually easier this way - I can make up my own context and really animate based on what the scenes look like without any care for the story already attached to them. I think I'll warn about that when I replace the vid. My amv is unusual to begin with (the only Inuyasha/Miroku vid), but now it's double - it will probably make more sense to those who haven't seen the entire anime.
Either way, I can't *wait* to write the fic for this vid. When I made it the first time I didn't really have a story. I know, that goes against everything I believe when it comes to romance, but it's true. This time I wouldn't even rip the footage until I had a set story to go by. I was still limited by the few 'hint' scenes in the anime, but now I think it has depth. It isn't just scenes of Inuyasha and Miroku fighting (together and apart) - the movie really helped a lot here. I still can't believe Inuyasha did that - scanning the vob I was almost intrigued to the point of actually watching the movie to hear what they say during that part. But just seeing it is enough (and I don't want to see what comes after that - the kiss scene was a little funny to look at, then way too mushy).
Food for thought:
In yaoi the uke tends to look like a girl. So why is it Inuyasha looks most female when he's hugging Kagome? The same was true for when Kenshin hugs Kaoru before the Kyoto arc. You have these gorgous, slightly feminate at times, but bad-ass male characters who turn into girls the moment a girl touchees them. Wierd. o.O
Anyway, I didn't make the pairing that set in the vid. As far as I'm concerned (namely from a fanfiction point of view - I didn't start editing this time till I knew what story I would write to go with the vid), the pairing is unusual. Miroku would certainly be seme to human Inuyasha, but when it comes to his demon side, I can see it going either way. I think that comes out in the second half of the vid. I had some fun playing with Inuyasha's different forms and personalities. And Miroku - for someone fans of the show see only as a playboy, he certainly has a very thoughtful and protective personality in the footage. Again - I've only watched the series once, and I know he's a skirt chaser (so he can bave a baby before he dies), but he's also the only person I ever heard Inuyasha admit his fears to. That night scene is probably my favorite non-fighting scene in the anime.
Yeah, I'm very happy with the vid. I don't like the beginning that much - it's the music itself - but I think it all goes together. Each section is important and I wouldn't cut out any of it. Nearly 6 minutes - very long story, but lovely to watch. ^_^
I've also made smaller versions of some of my recent vids. No editing change, just better compression and (surprisingly) better quality for a few of the vids. I hope to get those uploaded once the deletion requests start up again. It makes me wish the VCA's would hurry up and end so I can get back on schedule and clean up my profile faster. -

Well, I uploaded the remake of my old 'Nature's Child' vid, so that ones available again. This version is much better. For those who've been asking for the other unavailable vids - they really aren't worth it right now, so unless I remake them, they'll remain unavailble. But I promise, if I take down more, I'll try to get newer versions up sooner next time. ^_^;
