  • Y is for Years [And the first instance of me using Y in these entries. :D] 2010-03-03 14:36:37 Well damn.. It's been four years today since I joined the org. :D

Really, maybe it's because I haven't been in the org scene for as long as others, but really, the whole scene hasn't changed that much, save for people retiring, sytles changing, powers revolving.. Oh wait! It has changed a lot. O_o

When I first got here, it was because of Sierra Lorna. Saw "Sincerely Yours" and that got me decided that I needed to edit a video. Well, as with most of the new people that come around here, my first AMV [which isn't even downloadable anymore] wasn't very well recived. I got footage from Kazza [or something similar] and threw them on top of a song. Well, I wanted to improve, so I started Stalking the forums and learning what was good.

My early inspirations came from DivineQueenYewieh, Jaddziadax, jubjub, Krisqo, Mamo and of course Seirra Lorna. It was there that I really got into different genres of anime. It was Mamo's Cartoon Heroes that got me to buy pretty much every anime except for SAilor Moon that was in that AMV. Krisqo got me into Cardcaptor Sakura, Jaddizadax got me into Loveles, DQY got me into Yugioh and Avatar, and jubjub got me hooked on Kodocha. It was there that I really started enjoying light and upbeat AMV's, and my style pretty much developed from there. :D

Fast forward a year of so into godix's Donator's Iron Chef Competition. I was really frustrated with editing, and signed up hoping to get a good song to get me into editing. So I made Faith, and it got a judge's award. While it didn't win, I then realized that people could actually LIKE my videos, and I was really inspired from there.

2007 to 2008 was really just a blur. I didn't do much but give a shitload of Free Opinions, watch videos and drop MEP after MEP. I also joined Gateway and made my track in less than a week. And the fact that it's STILL not done really amuses me. xD

2009. LULZWORTHY years. It was at this time that I started a little project known as Project Editor. While I was sucessful in making the first round a smashing sucess, I then came upon a little problem.. I never really revealed this to anyone because I hated to sound whiny, but it was here that my arthritis had come full force. I'd had several surgeries and gone to countless doctors. They couldn't diagnose me with arthritis, and they actually told me I WAS CRAZY and the pain was all in my head. They were wanting to send me to a fucking SHRINK. Needless to say, I was in pain, thinking I was nuts and trying to coordinate a huge project. Not only that, but I was really tired and fed up with editing the stupid thing. So I left it in TOHH's hands.

Fast forward to later 2009 when I came back after getting my diagnosis and realizing I wasn't crazy. I'd realized I'd really fucked up with PE, and wanted to try and start it back up. Well fuck if I didn't throw a little RAEGQUIT when people started getting pissed off with the compilations done. So I nixed the compliations and just made it a contest [like it was in the first place], and people continued getting pissy so I RAEGQUITTED again and said several things I regret to several people. :(

So here I am now. 4 years later and I'm really the same person I was a long time ago. I may have become a tad more elitist in my experiences, but I still give everybody a chance. Heck, two of my favorite editors haven't been on the site here for over a year.

So needless to say, I've had quite a lovely time around here. I've made some pretty neat friends, learned a lot, gotten a much better taste in music than I used to, learned how to accept critisisim [which has really helped me out in college], and learned a lot about people in many different cultures[ Russia, Japan, Austrailia, ect], and really I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd changed as a person from my experiences here. I won't say its made a HUGE diffrence in my life, but I've certainly learned a lot about people and entertainment from here.

So here's to another 4 years of drama, 3 year long MEP's, bad VCA results, JCA drama, drama, new editors, old editors, fanservice videos, bad anime sequels, worse techno effect MEP's, AMV whoring and of course DRAMA! :D

  • E is for Ebay 2010-03-01 23:54:29 I'm going to be buying a desktop computer on Ebay from a friend that moved to Texas.

    This might end badly. >_____>

  • B is for Beat 2010-02-28 02:22:43 Wewt.. I'm really feeling the beat and groove of what I used to be like. :D I've been a grumpy, angry, stingy, and a generally unlikable twit for the last few years with my arthritis. And with no pain, I'm becoming myself again. :D

It's amazing what a disease can take away from you, but I'll be eternally grateful that I've taken it back.

As kind of a celebration, I'm gonna work on something upbeat for an AMV. I'm going to be using Final Fantasy X, because I've always loved the source, and I'm thinking of either channelling James Cameron's Avatar or perhaps some other cutesy happy romance, and not make it about rape or disheartened children. :D

Oh, and I'm even happier because today I got a video commission. Not to make AMV's, but a football highlight reel for my cousin. While I SHOULD be charging $9 an hour like I do everyone else, it's family so I'm doing it for $50 and charging $15 for the DVD's I'm using. [I have to make about 25 copies. >__>]

It's a nice little addition to my usual income and hopefully I'll get more clients out of it. Because college is not cheap and my summer tuition fees are gonna need some assitance. :D

But anyway, it's weird being so optimistic and happy. Then again, I'm finally back to the way I was back in 2007-2008. And that's really great. :)

I'm also going hiking tomorrow afternoon with family. Haven't done that in AGES. Can't wait to finally start getting back into shape.

/goes to fart rainbows and sparkles
