Bull situation: Well, the farmer came by last night and flashed his 10,000,000 lumens flashlight in it's eyes and, of course, it ran out of the fox barn and into the woods. Well he's supposed to come back today and put in a cage for him to get trapped in.
Meanwhile, Steph brought the dog out this morning and stirred the bull again, he bolted so now Steph doesn't feel as threatened by it.
I think we'll call him Roger and hug him and feed him and wash him then eat him. Or not. -

Oh, here's some more news regarding the bull.
Well, the cops called my wife today and said that if the farmer doesn't come by to pick him up soon, they will come in and shoot it themselves. *blink blink* Okay... I can live with that.
The cops also said that they put out a press release this morning to warn the population . Well, that's.... nice.... I'm just waiting for it to show up on the local news web page, I'll post it here when it's up. -

Well, Steph said she heard a crack and a shuffle in the fox barn today. So tonight, again very dark, I decide to put on some antiquated snowshoes that I've never worn before and trek the 50 feet in 5 foot deep fluffy snow to the barn. Got half way and shone the flashlight in; I turned quick when the darn thing started to run.
Well, the bull took shelter in our fox barn. So I called the owner, who incidentally is a crabby Dutch guy, and spoke with them. They will come over tomorrow.
However, Steph is angry that I didn't demand that they come over tonight. Seems she doesn't like the guy at all. -

Ok, here's the story. Tonight, I bring the dog out to do his business; It's dark, it's cold and the dog is sniffing around.
Suddenly, the darn thing turns around and yanks on his leash with all his might. I turn, surprised, 30 feet away from me, a deer crosses the driveway... or is it?? I look again, holy CRAP! It's the biggest grizzly I've ever seen!!!!
No... wait, bears don't have horns and they don't live around here... it's a friggin COW!!! Crossing the driveway, going into the woods. So I'm mooing as loud as I can to get it to stop and it doesn't. I go inside, tell Steph and the kids just go nuts jumping around wanting to see the cow. So I grab a flashlight and see if I can find her in the woods, the dog in hot pursuit.
Well, Steph calls me back in a panic. She called the neighbors who have a dairy farm and it seems that this is actually a BULL that escaped processing at the butchers 2 weeks ago. So I was running after a wandering bull in the snow.
Well, there seems to be a farmers code or so around here that goes like this: Farmers do not tat on other farmers. So that means that all the farmers know about this bull but do not call the rangers office because that would be tatting on the farmer that lost the bull whom, in this case, decided to just let it go and not do anything.
So, I was told to call the rangers office, I explained and they said that because it's after hours it's not considered an emergency and to call back during the daytime if we seem him again... during the daytime. WTF!?
So Steph calls our neighbor who's an RCMP officer and speaks to his wife, who is very pleasant and they are a very nice couple, and they are having a great chat about it right now... and I think the subject has been changed to Christmas stockings and packing trees away. WTF?
