  • 2008-09-10 21:10:51 Beer and Japanese Samurai style tragic movies = Does not mix.
    Princess Blade: Slightly boring but with some good action scenes and a decent story. 
  • About the anime Kure-nai 2008-09-08 22:35:51 12 episodes, pretty good if you like the rejected outsiders vs the powerful mega-family with lots of dark secrets and weird marriage setups. Reminded me of a Bruce Lee film, I think it was the Chinese Connection. Anyway, it's pretty good except for episode 6, that was just whack. Besides, the last episode drove me to tears.

    Recommended by Ayanefan: 8 of 10 stars or 4/5 if you do the math right but then 4/5 seems high so I'll give it 3.8/5.

  • Same old, same old in the Anime world 2008-09-05 09:42:56 So many animes follow the same story line, one in particular is "Girls flock around a guy and want to give their bodies to him but he resists."

    Ok, how realistic is that ... in America? I dunno about Japan. Anyway, here are a few that I've watched over the last 2 years; there are many, many others but I will not list them all.

    1 - Allison and Lillia : Allison gives all the strong signs that she likes Wil, but he doesn't notice.

    2- To Love Ru: Ok, Lala (alien princess) is usually found naked in bed with the guy and will even undress in front of Rito. His reaction? "GET YOUR CLOTHES ON!" (wtf?)

    3- DearS - Ren (another alien girl; seems that all girls that are interested in Japanese guys have to be either off world aliens or dense) says the magical slavery incantation that will make her Takeya's slave. He can do anything he wants to her. And when she says to him that she is trained in making him happy in physical ways, he pushes her away. (dumb!)

    4- Ah! My Goddess - Alien Goddess (Belldandy) contracted to be Keiichi's girlfriend. But he wants her as a friend with No Benefits!

    5 - Shugo Chara (SPOILER ALERT!) - Utau is totally in love with Ikuto! She will give him whatever he wants and even wants to kiss, hug and will even have, gulp, sex with him. What does he do? Pushes her away and will have nothing to do with her just because they are brother and sister. Hey! Welcome to the deep south!
