Anime Review: 2009-04-04 21:19:19 1. Kanokon - Episode 9 was raunchy! Especially with the "Eat Cake" part. I can't believe I watched that! In any case, the entire anime was another predictable one -
A: Reluctant hero (what was he... 13? 12?)
B: Heroine is sex starved and can't get hero boyfriend to get past his shyness
C: Heroine has rivals that want the sex craved fox' boyfriend and will get naked for him.
D: Funny for the first 4 episodes, getting serious for the next 4 and then goes Toshinden for the last 5.

Fun to watch without wife or kids around. Keep Kleenex handy.

2. Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea - Will not be successful in the U.S market. Nice anime, reminds me of early Disney. Extremely imaginative yet this time there is less excitement and thrills compared to Howl's, Spirited and Mononoke. They also went back to water colours. Kids 7 and under will love it. Nice date movie if you are past your 30's.
