My kids watch these but I think that we may be rethinking it....
1 Shows women being mistreated (sub-servient)
2 Some men have multiple wives and treat them badly (polygamy and abuse)
3 Queen marries for money to save the kingdom (lower your standards and do what it takes to get what you want/need)
Now, if I compare that with Azumanga Diaoh.... wait.... bad example....

1. Follow your heart
2. Care for others and the ones you love
3. Learn and observe the world and people around you
4. Believe in yourself
5. Give a good shit-kicking if you need to.
I can say with certitude that Anime edges out any Barbie CGI most of the time.
