  • 2007-03-24 23:07:55 So, here I am, done with part 1 of the re-plumbing of the house. We're on a well system here, so after I put in the Pex, Filter, water softener and U/V system, I start running the water to flush the lines; brown water coming out.

Well, I let it run for about a minute, thinking that the water softener (because it's new) may be flushing sediment out of it's tank. So, I make it go through a cycle. So I'm waiting for this thing to cycle and I'm thinking: "what was the micron value I put in for the filter...". So thinking that, I look around and I pick up the filter and I look at the label then I think to myself: " I wonder why this isn't picking up all the sediment."
I look at the filter in my hands, look at the filter casing on the wall. Look at the filter again then I call myself every explicative in the the book.

The filter was not in the casing, it was in my hands. So I had to wait another 10 minutes for the system to stop cycling, once done, I drain the line again, put in the filter, start the water and turn on a couple of faucets to remove the air in the lines.

Now, the water softener is going through a cleaning cycle. I feel much better NOW.
